#ThrowbackThursdays * The Afros “Feel It” (1990)

The year was 1990. The West Coast had hip hop locked down and New Jack Swing was the official radio/club sound. Record labels were in a signing frenzy and rappers were competing at an all time high. This was the beginning of a new era in hip hop where successful rappers started forming their own imprints and production companies. The Afros- DJ Hurricane & Kool T from the Hollis Crew were the first act to sign to Jam Master Jay’s label, JMJ/RaL. Their debut album was titled “Kickin’ Afrolistics” & “Feel It” was the 1st single.
