Eloise Mumford will Anastasia Steele’s roommate in Fifty Shades of Grey, scoring one of the final big roles to cast before the film goes into production. The casting of Kate Kavanagh had been a high priority for the Fifty Shades of Grey movie brain trust after Charlie Hunnam was cast as Christian Grey. Now we have her, despite much bigger names being rumored for the part (which was also true regarding every other part in the upcoming film). Universal was looking at actresses for the role and testing girls with Dakota Johnson, but Hunnam’s exit moved producers’ focus back to Christian. Jamie Dornan ultimately replaced Hunnam as the male lead and Jennifer Ehle and Luke Grimes joined the cast, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing. Kate Kavanagh is lead character Ana Steele’s best friend and her polar opposite. She is also said to be drop-dead gorgeous, leaving men panting. She and Elliott Grey (Grimes) also begin a romantic relationship. Prior to getting her start in film and TV, Mumford, 27, served as understudy to Elisabeth Moss in the David Mamet Broadway play Speed-the-Plow . The Fifty Shades of Grey movie has its leading man – for the second time – but the casting change has forced a month-long delay in the start of production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlie Hunnam’s departure from the role of Christian Grey, which went to Jamie Dornan , has put off the production. Fifty Shades of Grey Production Delayed The movie was initially set to start filming in early November. Now it won’t begin until December 2 , which could jeopardize its August 1, 2014 release date. Nothing has been decided regarding the latter point, but if they can get it filmed in 3-4 months, that still leaves another few more for any post-production. What is known is that Dakota Johnson will star as Anastasia Steele in the film alongside Dornan, who takes over for Hunnam as Ana’s lover Christian. Also in the cast are Luke Grimes as Elliot Grey , Christian Grey’s brother, and Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia’s mom. Sam Taylor-Johnson is set to direct. The idea that the Fifty Shades of Grey production would be delayed is also not surprising given the “polishing” of the script first written by Kelly Marcel. Marcel penned the script, which Patrick Marber hopped on to “do a polish and character work,” and now Mark Bomback is also on board to revise. While producers often bring a new writer on as shooting draws nearer, Bomback’s arrival on the scene as the third scribe a bit of an eyebrow-raiser. He worked on the 2008 sex club thriller Deception , starring Michelle Williams, Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor, so he’s got credentials at least. As for the two leads … tell us what you think below! Speculation ran somewhat rampant that Katheryn Bigelow received inside help in crafting her latest action-thriller Zero Dark Thirty , her upcoming follow-up to her Oscar-winning turn with The Hurt Locker . Tempers flared when President Obama’s administration was accused of giving Bigelow insight into the mission that killed al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden back in May 2011, but she denied the access. Originally set for an October 2012 release, Sony delayed the date so as to avoid being further embroiled in any political controversy ahead of the U.S. election in November. Coming in at one-minute, fifteen seconds, the teaser is definitely that. The trailer opens up with an eerie aerial view of Lower Manhattan and voiceovers hinting at clues to the terrorist mastermind’s location, rising tension and eventually what appears to be a satellite view of bin Laden’s fortified compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The film, which stars Joel Edgerton, Mark Strong Scott Adkins, Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Ehle and Chris Pratt will certainly be an anticipated Oscar-contender this fall.
