Two short films are making the rounds today, including Carl Erik Rinsch’s The Gift , a Phillips-sponsored clip that has apparently sparked a huge Hollywood bidding war , and Pixels , which probably hasn’t set the major studios aflame but is still delightful. We’ve enclosed both shorts and now we put it to you, the Movieline reader. Which would you rather see a feature film adaptation of: a charming, 8-bit invasion story with imagination and a sense of humor, or a megabudget short film about sexy Svedka robots and obtuse Macguffins, directed by Ridley Scott’s son-in-law?
