Mosquitoes as transmitters of Malaria Cure

Every year, according to World Health Organization, 250 million people are infected with Malaria and almost 1 million die.  And in Africa, every five childhood death is caused by malaria. One of the top deadliest diseases in the world which is transmitted through mosquitoes can now be cured through transmission of the transmitter of the disease. Yes, you’ve read it right.  Scientists are now looking forward to use the mosquitoes to deliver vaccines to human. Mosquitoes could one day be used to tackle malaria after scientists developed a genetically engineered version of the species that can deliver a vaccine. The idea of the “flying vaccinator” gave a full view when the scientists experimented a laboratory mice that was bitten by a mosquito to transmit the vaccine, upon observation, bites from the mosquito succeeded in raising antibodies in the mice, showing a successful immunization of the vaccine, according to a researched published in Insect Molecular Biology. Giving way to the idea of mosquitoes as vaccine transmitters is also another issue according to researchers. For it concerns to a lot like the dosage of the vaccine, medical safety issues and the public acceptance of the transgenic mosquitoes.
