The false news has trended in Twitter and has already top the search in Google. There is still no confirmation if Helka volcano eruption rumor is true. People have been scared because of the recent eruption of Eyjaflallajokull volcano that has impacted a lot of air flights in many European countries. The rumor started when http://twitter.com/BreakingNews tweeted that there is a visible cloud of ash coming out of Helka volcano and that Helka volcano is erupting. So is helka volcano erupting today? Update China Earthquake: Death Toll Rises to 400

The death toll in China’s earthquake disaster has risen to almost 400 in a mountainous and indigent area of Qinghai province. There were 8,000 injured including primary schoolchildren, who were buried under detritus. The earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 hit at 7:49 a.m. During this time people were probably still at home and schools were just starting the day. The U.S. Geological Survey recorded several strong aftershocks, just within hours of the initial quake. Storm Strikes Eastern India and Kills 31People

A cyclone destroyed thousands of huts and even uprooted trees in several villages in Eastern India. It had also killed not less than 31 individuals. The storm struck Tuesday night in North Dinajpur district of West Bengal state. It had damaged the telephone and electricity lines in the area. Many people suffered injuries in the region, nearly 315 miles northeast of Calcutta. The villages of Hematabad, Raiganj and Kiran Dighi were severely affected, where police and rescue teams recovered 31 bodies. Facebook Now Equipped with a Safety Center

Social Networking Giant Facebook has now equipped its website with a Safety Center. To be able to get into the Facebook Security Center, Simply Go to the safety tab. Facebook explained that having a safety center is for the users to gain protection from being harassed online if you’re a Facebook user.  It’s more of a number of pages that explains certain problematic scenarios on Facebook (If someone impersonates another person’s acocunt, Another person makes a death threat, If a user hacks into your account and takes over it, etc.) and how a user can resolve their problem by filing a complaint on Facebook. The pages further explain other privacy policies so that those can also serve as a social networking etiquette guide. So far Facebook has been making attempts to further secure millions of Facebook accounts despite problems in controlling the default ‘public’ privacy settings of all users. Earthquake hit Southern Spain with 6.2 Magnitude

On Monday, an earthquake with 6.2 magnitude hit Southern Spain about 24 kilometers (14 miles) to the southeast of the city of Granada. The quake happened at 00:08am (2208 GMT Sunday) at a depth of 616 kilometers near Sierra Nevada mountain range, the US Geological Survey reported. Earthquake in Jakarta, Indonesia: 7.8 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Indonesia

A massive earthquake strikes Jakarta,  Indonesia with a magnitude of 7.8. The earthquake hit Indonesia one early Wednesday. The earthquake shook the ground so hard that it prompted a tsunami, everyone rush to higher grounds. Reports say that there are no damages so far in Indonesia. There were at least five aftershocks with a 5.2 magnitude that startled Indonesia as well The Earthquake woke the people up and startled them a lot that Wednesday morning. The rumors about the tsunami made the residents near the beach go in to panic. They ran away on their cars and motorcycles. They even climbed hills just to seek protection. There was chaos everywhere because of their panic, but no serious damage or injury. Residents say that the earthquake lasted bout a minute. Residents are still in shock of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake and are now trying to get back to their normal lives. California Earthquake Today: San Diego Earthquake Updates – April 4, 2010

San Diego, California Earthquake Update – A 7.2 magnitude shake Baja California this 3:44 PM today which had brought death and shaking of buildings more than 200 miles away in downtown Los Angeles. According to the States Civil Protection Agency spokesperson Alan Sandoval, the earthquake shuts off electricity and disrupted phone services in Mexicali, the capital of Baja California. The epicenter of the earthquake was also found in Baja California, Mexico. The quake had occurred six miles southwest of Guadalupe Victoria and 108 miles east of Tijuana. Chandeliers of skyscrapers in Los Angeles swayed with the earthquake. According to the City Fire Department, they stated that there was no damages found in the place. The aftershocks was also felt in Phoenix, according to the Arizona Republic Newspaper publishing company.
