Kalon McMahon: Lying to Emily Maynard Non-Stop on The Bachelorette?

The Bachelorette he-diva Kalon McMahon says all the right things, but he’s lying non-stop to Emily Maynard, according to people close to him. Given the history of the “luxury brand consultant,” a friend warns Emily that she should see Kalon’s sweet nothings for just that … nothing. None other than Erica Rose, a 2006 contestant on The Bachelor, grew up with Kalon in Texas and says the red flags are already flying high. “Emily should really take anything he says with a grain of salt,” says the aptly-named Rose, who resurfaced last summer on Bachelor Pad . “And if she wants to know why, all she has to do is see how he lied to his girlfriend back in Houston – just like he’s lying to Emily now.” Star recently published Kalon’s (alleged) raunchy 2009 personal “diary” detailing his womanizing and partying … big surprise right there. Late the following year, he began what appeared to be a serious romance with law student Lauren Serice, 25, after they met on a blind date. “Lauren was wary at first because she heard bad things about Kalon, but he can turn on the charm at the drop of a hat,” Erica recalled. “He put on his act and worked hard to win her over.” During their relationship, Kalon McMahon admitted to Lauren he didn’t want to have children … making you wonder why he’d pursue Emily Maynard. “That’s another lie he’s been telling,” Erica adds, “since she has a young daughter, Kalon would never be in a situation where he has to be a stepdad.” With Arie Luyendyk Jr. looking like the favorite, Kalon could soon be on his way out. See these Bachelorette spoilers for more on his fate …

Erykah Badu Goes Off on Flaming Lips for "Soft Porn" Video

Erykah Badu is one angry singer. The artist has gone off on the Flaming Lips because it used naked photos of her and her sister in its video for “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” naked photos – such as the one below – Badu says the group did not have permission to release. “I never would have approved that tasteless, meaningless, shock motivated video,” Badu Tweeted this week, aiming her ire at frontman Wayne Coyne. Badu did collaborate with the band on the single, but insists she asked for no role in what she describes as “soft porn” and refers to the video as “unedited” and “unapproved.” “That all spells 1 thing, Self Serving,” Erykah ranted. “When asked what the concept meant after u explained it, u replied ,’it doesn’t mean anything, I just want to make a great video that everyone is going to watch.’ I understood, because as an artist we all desire that. But we don’t all do it at another artist’s expense. I attempted to resolve this respectfully by having conversations with u after the release but that too proved to be a poor excuse for art.” The video has since been taken down and Coyne has tried to apologize via Twitter. He wrote: “We, the Flaming Lips, accept full responsibility for prematurely having Pitchfork post it. It has outraged and upset a segment of fans and we apologize if we offended any viewers!!! This is a Flaming Lips video which features Erykah Badu and her sister Nayrok and is not meant to be considered an Erykah Badu or Nayrok statement, creation, or approved version.” A case of too little, too late? We assume so. Don’t start lining up for Erykah Badu/Flaming Lips tour tickets any time soon.

Rand Paul Endorses Mitt Romney; Would Prefer Dad

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky endorsed Mitt Romney for president Thursday, even if he admits he would prefer his father, Rep. Ron Paul. “My first choice had always been my father. I campaigned for him back when I was 11 years old. He’s still my first pick,” the Republican told Fox News. “But now that the nominating process is over, tonight I’m happy to announce that I’m going to be supporting Gov. Mitt Romney in the fall.” Paul’s father suspended his formidable active campaign operation in May, but is still pursuing delegates so he can have an influence at the GOP convention. Paul noted in the Fox interview that Mitt Romney’s father, Michigan Gov. George Romney, also fell short in his own presidential bid in 1968. In response, Romney said in a statement on his campaign website that he was “honored” by the endorsement of the first-term Kentucky Senator. He called Rand Paul, who campaigned actively for Ron, “a leading voice to scale back the size and reach of government and promote liberty.” The younger Paul has been mentioned as a possible Vice Presidential pick and/or a GOP candidate for President himself in 2016 or 2020.
