“Growing Up Hip Hop” Airs Thursday Nights On WeTV Brandon Barnes and his mom Ms. Deb Antney go head to head over choosing Zonnique Pullins’ publicist on the latest episode of “Growing Up Hip Hop.” The mom and son’s relationship was already on the outs after Zonnique fired Brandon as her manager and promptly signed to his mother. Rihanna Talks Style, Self-Respect Well this is…interesting. Rihanna, known for baring it all and setting it out for the ‘gram, seems to be changing her tune a bit on style and self-respect. The pop songstress has been covering up much more lately…we haven’t seen many nearly-nude looks from the Bajan Bad Gal lately. Could she be doing a complete overhaul? While talking about her upcoming film “Home” on an Australian press appearance , her style evolution came up: “I feel like my image evolves as I evolve as a woman. With growth, there’s change. My style is a reflection of my mood, my attitude wherever I am at, and you can see how it’s evolved since the beginning of my career just from my videos. And style is a huge part of that attitude.” She went on to mention that the respect that women receive from men is directly tied to the respect they show themselves: “The more we respect ourselves the more men will respect us. I have both sides to me and I think most women do. We are strong but we are very vulnerable as well.” Which is also why she loved the character she voices in the film so much: “And also, Tip is so bold. And the way she dresses and how she wears her hair is not perfect and I feel like little girls should feel comfortable being that way, being strong and being themselves.” Of course, Rih does whatever she wants to do whenever she feels like doing it — and wants little girls to feel just as bold. Power Airs Shady Commercial During ‘Empire’ Finale Looks like Power’s producers are a little shook by Empire’s success . Though the above advertisement for season two of the hit Starz series has been circulating on the network’s channels for the last few months, the powers that be of ‘Power’ took things up a notch during tonight’s ‘Empire’ finale and used a new advertisement that name-dropped the FOX TV record breaker: Come on, 50! Can’t we all just bask in the fact that there are this many popular black drama series on TV in the first place and not compete???
