Random Ridiculousness: Woman Popped With DUI Had A Live Hamster On Her Lap At Time Of Arrest…”You Should Just Kill My Hamster”

What the fawk is wrong with people these days???? According to KPTV: Beaverton, Oregon police said a woman driving under the influence early Tuesday morning had a hamster loose on her lap. Nicole Huey, 27, of Beaverton, was stopped at Southwest Scholls Ferry Road and Davies Road at 12:30 a.m. Police said the woman was driving to the store with her hamster. Huey was arrested for DUII. She said she didn’t have anyone to come get her hamster, according to police, and told officers, “So you should just kill it.” The officer told her the hamster would not be harmed. It ended up requiring three officers to capture the animal, as it put up a good fight to stay in the car. One officer used an evidence tube for a make-shift container to safely transport the hamster to the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Tualatin. The driver was given the contact information to retrieve the hamster if she chooses to do so. Police said one lesson to learn from this situation, other than do not drink and drive, is that it’s not safe to operate a motor vehicle with any type of animal in your lap. Fortunately, in this case, no one was hurt. Police said there is not a photo available of the hamster. SMH. Freakin’ weirdo!

Jesus Take The Starbucks! Nurse Accidentally Murks Patient By Injecting Her Veins With Coffee Says “Anyone Can Get Confused”

GTFOHWTBS!!! A Brazilian student nurse with only three days experience accidentally killed an 80-year-old woman by putting coffee in her intravenous drip! Via NYDailyNews reports : A student nurse who mistakenly injected coffee into the veins of an 80-year-old patient who died hours later has defended herself by saying “anyone can get confused.” Rejane Moreira Telles, 23, said she had just three days of work experience in the Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, clinic when she mixed up administering a drip to Palmerina Pires Ribeiro. She appeared on TV Globo’s Fantastico show where she said she was aware of the risk of administering an intravenous feed. But she added: “As they [the feed and blood drips] were next to each other, anyone can get confused. I injected the coffee and I put it in the wrong place.” Telles, who has been indicted for involuntary manslaughter alongside two nurses and another student, also revealed they had not been trained for that kind of procedure. Riberio died last week at a clinic in São João de Meriti, in the Baixada Fluminense region of Rio de Janeiro. Doctors contacted by TV Globo’s Fantastico said that the milky coffee would have gone directly to the patient’s heart and lungs. Dr. Armando Carreir, a nutritional specialist at the Federal University of Fluminens’ Hospital Antonio Pedro, said ‘It would have been as if the patient was suffocating.’ The victim’s daughter, Loreni Ribeiro, said “I saw my mother was agitated. She opened her mouth, and this youngster put coffee with milk into (her) veins.” Jeez, how the heck does something like this happen? And what sick person needs coffee in their feed tube anyway? Isn’t caffeine bad for you? Sounds like since the nurse hadn’t been trained that the hospital should be liable. Shutterstock /G1.GLOBO.COM
