Photo Courtesy of VH1 “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s Scrapp Deleon Freed From Jail A “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star is finally free after spending several years behind bars. Scrapp Deleon who we haven’t seen on LHHATL since he was sentenced in 2016 is out of jail. The news was confirmed by Momma Dee who sent a congratulatory message to Scrapp’s mother Karen King and posed with him in a picture. Karen also confirmed the news with a photo of Scrapp’s super chiseled post-prison body. Scrapp received a five-year sentence after pleading guilty to drug trafficking. He also received 15 years probation and a $100,000 fine. We wonder what his ex-bae Tommie thinks about all this, she was JUST in jail herself for driving under the influence.
Folks like Jaleel White, Kadeem Hardison, Jimmy Walker, and Tichina Arnold never got honors from television award shows like The Emmys. So, co-host Michael Che made sure to give each of them, and a few more like John Witherspoon and Marla Gibbs the “Emmys that they deserve for their influence. Getty/YouTube
It’s a tired joke at this point, but Halloween really has gone from a time when parents get dragged around the neighborhood by cranky toddlers in shoddy Marvel masks to a holiday that’s mostly focused on drunk people wearing underwear and cat ears in public. And for that, we thank it. Of course, for social media celebrities, the Halloween season starts earlier every year, and this year it looks like the divine Ms. Bella Thorne is first out of the gate with a costume that conveys her profound understanding for what makes the internet tick: Yes, that’s Bella dressed as … some sort of sexy employee at a weed dispensary? A sexy stoned Mortal Kombat character? A sexy tribute to the politicians are helping to lower our nation’s appalling incarceration rate by decriminalizing cannabis? We’re not sure, but we know there’s weed involved, and we’re guessing the website she ordered it from described it as “sexy.” Bella captioned the pic, “Hi, indica? Or sativa?” Which basically translates to, “I’m not just wearing the costume to rack up likes; I legit smoke weed.” And that’s about it for context. We know from Bella’s time with Scott Disick that she’s not much of a drinker, and apparently she’s planning to advertise her love for the jazz cabbage on Halloween night. Or is she? These days, it’s not unusual for the young folk to rock pick up multiple Halloween costumes with an eye on going out multiple nights. Hence, Bella’s … sexy red rabbit thing costume. Frankly, we have no idea what’s going on here, but that’s okay. Revealing Halloween costumes are like Christopher Nolan movies. You don’t have to completely enjoy them to appreciate them. All that really matters these days is that Bella is done with Scott Disick . She could run around in February in a form-fitting burlap sack and call it a sexy 1920s hobo costume, and we’d be cool with it. In fact, we’re kind of hoping that happens now. The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families produced an animated video designed to show children how to talk about mental health issues. That's a wonderful resource for many children. Kate Middleton, who is a patron of the organization, provides the introduction, lending her voice and celebrity status to a worthy cause. We have the short video for you below, and it's really worth watching. We would expect nothing less from the Duchess of Cambridge. This isn't just because Kate Middleton is already a mother of two, with a third on the way . Though, obviously, this kind of topic is going to be near and dear to her heart as a mother. By marrying into the British Royal Family, Kate Middleton did more than just become an implied villain on Grimm . (Don't ask) She inherited a lot of responsibilities — one of which being that she'll very probably be queen in the not-so-distant future . Overall, she has an obligation to the British people — whose tax dollars include millions specifically for the royals — to use her influence and celebrity status for positive effect. One of the ways that she's doing this is by introducing this video, aimed at children, that talks about mental and emotional health. Mental health is very complicated. Until very recently, the subject was almost taboo among most people. It's been pointed out that Millennials, stereotypically, are willing to bluntly discuss things like depression and anxiety. Part of that is being the first generation to grow up with evolving technology, from the internet to social media. This provided not only access to mental health resources that aren't hidden behind a paywall (as actually seeing a therapist is), but has allowed Millennials to engage with each other and share their own experiences. There's where you get conversations where people say “oh, I've always done that … I never knew that it was called executive dysfunction!” or “wait, my life doesn't feel like it looks like on those commercials, but it sounds like I'm depressed.” Knowing the names for ways that you're feeling puts you one step closer to finding helpful coping mechanisms. This video is for younger children, though, and doesn't use diagnostic terminology or talk about “coping mechanisms” in a formal way. Rather it talks about feelings. Some of us don't live on emotional roller coasters now that we're adults, and under normal circumstances are feelings are more or less limited to feelings like contentment , hungry , and drunk . For children, however (and for many adults), there's a whole spectrum of feelings that their tiny little bodies and still-developing brains cannot contain. Magnifying that is the general powerlessness of children and the fact that a lot of parents don't have a clue on how to listen to a child and know what's normal for children and what could be a sign of mental illness. So a lot of what the video talks about is how children can start conversations with their parents, teachers, and even their peers about how they've been feeling lately and what symptoms they've been experienced. But it's all handled so informally that they avoid medical jargon at all costs. It's important to note (though the video does not) that, in many cases, symptoms of mental health problems in young children can be signs of abuse of various types. This is a great way to talk about this without making abused children reflexively defensive about what's been happening to them. A child might be afraid to tell an adult what's happened to them at home, but they might not associate their trouble sleeping and stomach aches and acting out with the trauma that they are enduring. Adorably, the video even deals with how to show good listening skills if a friend comes up to talk to them about mental health. Always with the suggestion that an adult might be better equipped to help out with the problem. It's wonderful that Kate Middleton provided the introduction for this video. By lending her voice, she gives it more weight and more reach. There are too many people who still see mental health as a personal failing in which they do not see purely physical ailments. That's sad, and only education can change that. Even if you don't have kids, this video is cute: Kate We would expect nothing less from the Duchess of Cambridge. Keke Palmer Plans To Press Charges Against Trey Songz Keke Palmer is going to get justice! We previously reported that the ‘Scream Queens’ actress recently blasted Trey Songz for using unauthorized footage of her in his latest music video. Keke claims she was invited to a party by Trey in Miami but was pressured into being in his video while under the influence. The star claims she told Trey that she didn’t want to be in the video but was filmed against her knowledge: “Come on bruh, I clearly said no and you said okay, yet I was being secretly filmed when you told me “let me just show you the idea”?? Wow. This is what I’m referring to in my previous post, this is the sexism and misogyny I refer to because if I was a dude, he wouldn’t have even tried me like this. Let this be a lesson to all, I’m not for the bullshit. I’m serious about my business and you will not use my likeness without MY permission.” Palmer posted this image and message after a photo of her in Trey’s video hit Twitter: The actress then posted a video explaining what transpired in Miami: Keke sat down with Larry King to discuss the traumatic incident and says she will press charges against Trey for committing “sexual intimidation” while at the party: The actress tells King that she will have to press charges: “I mean, it’s out and it’s over but I feel more so my point, it’s not just specifically about this person, this guy or what he did. It’s the overall idea that you can’t just do stuff to people and it’s all right. No matter who you are.” Do you think Keke has a strong case? The music video has been taken down since she aired her grievances but Palmer says she’s not done getting justice. Hit the flip to read what Trey had to say about the incident next… IG/Twitter
Nick Gordon Ordered To Pay $36 Million For Bobbi Kristina’s Death As you know, Nick Gordon was found legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s untimely death last year. Though no criminal charges were able to be filed, the Bobbi Kris’ estate was able easily to win their wrongful death suit since Nick never showed up to court proceedings to defend himself. Bobby Brown said that Bobbi Kris’ earning potential was unlimited, and by helping extinguish her life, Nick Gordon was responsible for cutting those possibilities short. While the family originally sought $50 million for the loss of BK’s life, the judge granted just $36 million. As TMZ reports, Gordon was found to be liable for an itemized list of costs associated with Bobbi Kris’ death: Here’s a partial list: — Conversion (stealing funds/assets) at $1.5 mil with punitive damages of $250k — Assault and battery/medical damages at $1.3 mil, plus $4.2 mil because Gordon was under the influence of drugs and alcohol — Pain and suffering at $13 mil — Loss of life at $15 mil, including her net worth and future potential income Excellent victory on Bobbi Kristina’s family’s part…but you know Nick doesn’t have two dimes to rub together. We doubt they’ll ever get even a decent fraction of that money from him. Splash/WENN
