Mister Rogers Movie: Who Should Play PBS Star?

It’s pretty much the opposite of the oft-discussed Fifty Shades of Grey in terms of subject matter, but a just-announced Mister Rogers biopic got us thinking: Who should play the iconic, laconic PBS children’s TV host? “His keen ability to find good in anyone, or anything, will make for a truly inspiring cinematic experience,” producer Justin Nappi says of the film. Fred Rogers died in 2003 at age 74. An ordained minister, he hosted Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood from 1968-2001 and won countless awards. The biopic, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood , will need the perfect star to embody his soothing, gentle, easy-going, mellow and optimistic style. Beloved TV stars Ty Burrell and Steve Carell, among others, could be good fits for his childlike ways. Who do you think should play him? Lil Wayne-Trick Daddy Beef: Quashed By Birdman?

Trick Daddy and Lil Wayne are not big fans of each other, but Weezy’s friend mentor Birdman has reportedly stepped in to quash this beef for good. Lil Wayne went ballistic at a strip club last month after a dude in Trick’s posse allegedly flicked a cigarette into the rapper’s dreads at a Miami strip club. Trick Daddy is bitter, claiming Tunechi got him blackballed from all the good strip clubs in Miami (really), leaving him to frequent butterface joints (really). Moreover, Trick insists he didn’t even do anything to Weezy. “If I wanted to start $h!t with [Wayne] he would have been in the hospital for a different reason,” Daddy boasted, harshly referencing Weezy’s seizures . Fortunately, Birdman stepped in to defuse the situation between the feuding rappers. He’s reportedly set up a dinner with the three of them to talk it out. What we wouldn’t give to be a fly on that wall. In other news, Mountain Dew dropped Lil Wayne as a spokesman because of the Emmett Till controversy and the rapper’s perceived lack of apology. Guy’s got beefs going left and right lately.
