Katy Perry To Perform At Grammy Awards

Singer’s “Firework” is up for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage Katy Perry will take the stage at the Grammy Awards on February 12. The two-time nominee was announced as the latest performer on Wednesday (February 1). The currently blue-haired pop star is up for Record of the Year for her feel-good empowerment track, “Firework.” The Teenage Dream single is also up for Best Pop Solo Performance. This is hardly her first time performing on the show. At the 2011 Grammys , she performed her songs “Not Like the Movies” and “Teenage Dream.” The Valentine-themed performance also included the debut of footage from her wedding to her now-estranged husband, Russell Brand. In 2009, Perry performed her breakthrough hit “I Kissed a Girl” surrounded by giant, glittering pieces of prop fruit. And in 2010 she took the stage at the Grammy Nominations show and sang her ubiquitous candy-coated track, “California Gurls.” The same day that Perry was announced as a performer, fellow nominee Drake was announced as one of the night’s big presenters, along with Gwyneth Paltrow, Miranda Lambert and Dierks Bentley. Adele announced her long-rumored Grammy performance on Tuesday. It marks her first performance since a November vocal surgery. “I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards,” Adele said. “It’s an absolute honor to be included in such a night and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all.” Rihanna, Coldplay, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Kelly Clarkson, Jason Aldean and Nicki Minaj are also confirmed to perform live at the 54th annual awards show, which will be hosted by LL Cool J. Gucci Mane’s ‘I Don’t Love Her’ Video Debuts Thursday On ‘RapFix Live’

The Return of Mr. Zone 6 video also features Webbie and Rocko. By MTV News staff Gucci Mane Photo: Atlantic Records Gucci Mane has a strange way of showing affection. The Burrrprint rapper, along with Rocko and Webbie, trade tales of lust on “I Don’t Love Her,” while showering women with attention at the club. The video, directed by Mr. Boomtown, is set to premiere on MTV News’ “RapFix Live” on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. In the clip, the ladies gyrate and fight for the attention of Gucci Mane and company. “I love things about her, but I don’t love her/ I love the way she treats me, but I don’t love her,” they chant on the hook. The track is from La Flare’s latest album, the forthcoming The Return of Mr. Zone 6, featuring collaborations with Wale, Master P, Birdman and Waka Flocka Flame, among others. The project is Gucci Mane’s first since the rapper’s string of odd behavior, from pleading “mental incompetency” after a probation violation to tattooing a lightning-bolted ice cream cone on his face. After the rapper’s past two thoughtful albums, The State vs. Radric Davis and The Appeal: Georgia’s Most Wanted, this go-round, Gucci Mane is aiming for a return to his roots: the streets. “This street album is a return to the music that got me buzzin’ in the first place,” Gucci said in a statement about The Return of Mr. Zone 6. “It didn’t really make sense to not have some of the people who’ve been responsible for some of my best street records behind me.” Are you excited for new music from Gucci Mane? Let us know in the comments! Don’t miss “RapFix Live” on Thursday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com for the premiere of Gucci Mane’s “I Don’t Love Her” video. Related Artists Gucci Mane

Lil Wayne’s ‘6 Foot 7 Foot’ Video Premieres

Highly anticipated clip debuted on MTV.com Thursday morning. By Alvin Blanco Lil Wayne in the “6 Foot 7 Foot” video Photo: Young Money While Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated video for his single “6 Foot 7 Foot” makes its on-air premiere on MTV Thursday night (March 3) at 7:54 p.m. ET, fans got a surprise early look at the video when it made its online debut on MTV.com in the morning. The colorful video features cameos from members of the Young Money roster, including Lil Twist and Jae Millz as well as Bronx-bred rapper Cory Gunz, who handles the song’s third verse. The inclusion of Gunz, who signed to Young Money last year, was a strategic move by Weezy to give the young MC a high-profile introduction similar to those given to past signees like Nicki Minaj and Drake . The clip takes cues from the Oscar-winning Christopher Nolan film “Inception” , incorporating similar slow-motion, dreamlike sequences. The song’s plethora of punch lines also serve as inspiration in the video. For example, Weezy is seen reaching for what looks like a flying brain (“I lost my mind. It’s somewhere out there stranded”), literally whispering into his own ear (“Talking to myself ’cause I am my own consultant”) and standing at a podium (“I speak the truth but I guess that’s a foreign language to y’all”). “6 Foot 7 Foot,” produced by Bangladesh, is the lead single off the New Orleans MC’s forthcoming album Tha Carter IV, due in stores later this year. Tune in to “Rapfix Live” Thursday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com for a special behind-the-scenes look at the “6 Foot 7 Foot” video. Christopher Lee, Republican Congressman from New York, Resigns Amidst Craig’s List Scandal

Hope I’m not a toad. 🙂 i’m a very fit fun classy guy. Live in Cap Hill area. 6ft 190lbs blond/blue. 39.. Lobbyist. I promise not to disappoint. With these words, Christopher Lee became the latest politician to end his career due to a boneheaded sex scandal. The Republican congressman from New York’s 26th District has resigned after admitting he sent a Craig’s List user a photo of himself shirtless under that site’s “Women Seeking Men” forum. A single 34-year old shared her story with Gawker this week, in which she placed a Craig’s List ad that read: ”Will someone prove to me not all CL men look like toads?” Lee, a married father, responded with the email printed above, sent from his own Gmail account (moron), along with this topless self-portrait. Nice flexing, dude! The pair exchanged a few more messages before the woman ran an online search, discovered Lee’s marital status and reported him. Within three hours of the story breaking, Lee issued the following statement: “It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Western New York. I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness.”
