Amanda Seyfriend is a woman of so many talents. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show today, the Les Miserables actress described a night out with her co-stars at a karaoke bar in Japan. Ellen, of course, then had her reenact it exactly. And… she’s back! Yes, already. Less than a month after taking a medical leave of absence from Good Morning America , due to a rare blood disorder, Robin Roberts returned to the co-anchor’s chair this morning alongside George Stephanopoulos. “My needle was past ‘E’ when I left here a couple of weeks ago, but I’ve got a full tank so watch out,” the 51-year-old told viewers, adding that her three-week vacation included a trip to Italy. “I haven’t taken this much time off in quite some time.” Robert was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome earlier this year and will undergo a bone marrow transplant on September 5. She’ll continue to receive chemotherapy treatments as well. But nothing could dampen her spirits this morning, as the GMA mainstay since 2005 added via Twitter: “Merry Monday@GMA. Great to be back with George, Sam, Josh, Lara and YOU! Rested and rarin’ to go again….you have been warned. 🙂 xxoo”
Just when you thought American Idol had narrowed down its selections for the Season 12 judging table to a few names… According to TMZ, producers have reached out to Kanye West about sitting alongside Mariah Carey on the Fox juggernaut – and the rapper has expressed interest in the gig. West, of course, would bring major legitimacy and name recognition to the show. Although he’s really only been in the news these days because he’s dating Kim Kardashian for some reason. Insiders say Kanye is “on the fence” because he isn’t sure if Idol would be a solid fit for his brand, while those behind the program would need to consider writing another huge paycheck. West would not take a penny less than Carey’s $17 million/year, sources say. Nicki Minaj, meanwhile, is considered a near lock for one of the judging positions, much to the chagrin of Mariah . Would you want to see Kanye join them?
Margaret Jackson of Houston taught some young miscreant a lesson he will never forget … by chasing him off with a BBQ fork after he attempted to rob her daughter. The 73-year-old grandmother was at her daughter’s house when the dog started barking at the door. Outside, an intruder was trying to shimmy open the door. An intruder who never saw this coming.
