6.8 earthquake in Tonga 2011

An earthquake measuring 6.8 on the Richter scale jolted Tonga at 12:07:04 p.m. Friday (2307 GMT on Thursday), the U.S. Geological Survey said. The epicenter, with a depth of 41.00 km, was initially determined to be at 15.0000 degrees south latitude and 174.8000 degrees west longitude. The epicenter is some 355 km westsouth of Samoa#39;s capital of Apia and 415 km north of Tonga#39;s second largest town of Neiafu. There have been no reports of casualties or property damage so far.

6.5 earthquake in Indonesia August 16, 2011

The quake struck at 18:03 p.m. Jakarta time (1103 GMT) with the epicenter at 163 km northwest Ambon, the capital city of Maluku province, and with the depth at 10 km under sea bed, an official of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency told Xinhua. A shallow undersea quake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale jolted eastern parts of Indonesia on Tuesday, but no tsunami warning was issued and there were no immediate report of damage and casualties, officials said.
