The hardest thing about being an American critic covering a European festival is that almost anything you write is bound to smack of “I’m here, in a fantastic European city, seeing things that you can’t.” So here I am in Venice, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, looking at brand-new movies that many of you won’t be able to see for weeks or months, or maybe ever.

Everyone knows magazines extensively airbrush the stars on their covers to make them look appealing as possible (well, except any Newsweek Sarah Palin cover , they leave those alone to make her look bad, according to her). Usually, celebs appreciate a little touchup and there is no photoshop controversy.

I must be seeing things because Rachel Bilson is super cute again and I’d like to take full responsibility! If it weren’t for my constant nagging and criticizing, I believe we’d still be looking at this . Anyway, I’m not sure if she’s still with that douchebag from Star Wars, but if not I’d be more than happy to take lil’Rachel on a date to McDonalds and hand feed her while she sits on my lap.
