Andy Murray won Wimbledon Sunday, ousting Novak Djokovic and giving Great Britain its first home-grown champion of tennis’ biggest event in 77 years. Murray, the tournament’s #2 seed, bested #1 seed Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. With Kate Middleton due any day now … quite a week for the UK! Andy Murray, 26, hails from Dunblane, Scotland … which is currently setting the record for most pints consumed by a single town in a single day. He won the 2012 U.S. Open as well as the Olympics, which were held at Wimbledon, but had yet to break through in the tournament he coveted most. Andy had been knocking on the proverbial door for some time, reaching the semifinals each year from 2009-2011, then losing 2012’s final to Roger Federer. Today he was finally able to get it done, despite facing the world’s top-ranked player (and 2011 Wimbledon champion) in Djokovic. Congratulations, Andy!
