BOSSIP Exclusive: Chris Brown Stalker Posts Bail; Found Fit To Stand Trial

Amira Ayeb Facing Felonies After Allegedly Breaking Into Chris Brown’s House Last Spring The woman accused of breaking into Chris Brown’s home and living there for several days is now out on bail and has been deemed fit to stand trial. Amira Kodcia Ayeb is facing felony charges of burglary, malicious mischief and stalking after investigators said last May she hopped the bus from Texas to Brown’s Southern California home, broke in, trashed the place and then shacked up while he was away. The singer later wrote on Instagram that he found Ayeb naked in his bed. Ayeb – who’d uploaded several videos on YouTube singing incoherently – pled not guilty, and a judge ordered her to have a mental health eval after she spent part of the summer refusing to leave her jail cell. But BOSSIP can reveal that mental health experts found Ayeb competent to stand trial, and her new defense lawyer Zulu Ali successfully argued to lower her bail from $220,000 to just $10,000. Ayeb posted bail just two days later, court records show. The judge also ordered that the woman get treatment for her mental health issues while on the outside. “Defendant is ordered to attend psychological counseling and show proof of enrollment by fax,” Ayeb’s court docs state. She must appear for another hearing next month. We’ve reached out to Ali, Ayeb’s lawyer, for comment.

Killing mosquitoes with lasers to combat Malaria

In a bid to combat malaria, Intellectual Ventures is developing a method of killing mosquitoes with lasers. The system is called a Photonic Fence and identifies the beasties by the frequency of their wing flapping (hey, that’s exactly how we know when they’re dive-bombing our heads). Once locked-on, it’s death to the filthy blood-suckers. This story was latched onto by the gambit of news sources in the middle of 2009. Since then, the development team has added some pretty interesting info on their webpage. Last Feburary several videos of mosquito flight were posted. These were shot at 6000 fps using specially designed photographic rigs (probably much like this one) to make sure the shots were in focus. Now they’re slated to give a talk at the 2010 TED conference. The publication of these talks sometimes lags behind by several months so be patient. Watch the video after the break to get some abstract shots of the hardware being used; they’re not giving up the goods until the conference. added by: lordsbassman
