Queensland budget 2010/11

The state#39;s economy is expected to grow by 3.75 per cent in 2010/11 on the back of further investment in the resources sector, accelerating to 4.5 per cent in 2011/12. The Queensland budget has forecast a $1.745 billion net operating deficit for 2010/11, almost halving the expected hit the state will take from the global financial crisis. The figure is a vast improvement on the $3.142 billion forecast when the government last looked at its books in December for the mid-year economic review.
