Andrea Mitchell, NBC’s Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent, revealed today on Andrea Mitchell Reports: she has breast cancer. “Mine was discovered during my annual screening just a short time ago,” the 64-year old said on her show. “Luckily for me, I am one of the fortunate ones; we discovered it in the earliest stage, it hadn’t spread, and I’m already back at work with a terrific prognosis.” Approximately one in eight women in America will be diagnosed with this form of cancer in their lifetime, a fact that has prompted Mitchell to send this message to viewers: “I’m looking at this as another of life’s lessons.
