Though he has yet to start in an NFL game, Johnny Manziel has gotten plenty of media attention since being drafted by the Cleveland Browns back in May. In July, Manziel was partying with Justin Bieber when police were called to the scene twice in the same evening. Just one week later, reports surfaced that Manziel was caught using cocaine while partying with several unidentified women in Las Vegas. Now Manziel finds himself at the heart of a potentially scandalous situation that could turn out to be the latest in a long line of embarrassments for the NFL. According to a police report obtained by a Cleveland blogger, the trouble began when Manziel and his entourage were waiting for an elevator in the lobby of an upscale apartment building late Friday night. 33-year-old Chris Gonos approached Manziel, stated that he’s “the biggest Browns fan ever,” and requested a hug. Gonos walked toward Manziel and was promptly punched in the face. Manziel’s entourage then attacked Gonos, punching and kicking the victim as he lay on the ground. Gonos spoke out on the incident earlier today: “My brother say what was going on and he ran, he tackled Manziel,” Gonos claims. “I guess he got the sack and the fumble…I’m talking he speared him all the way to the back wall.” “I was cornered…and Johnny Manziel and like three or four of his buddies were all coming at me. [My brother] just came to help me out and I guess Johnny sucker punched him while the security guard was holding him.” Gonos added that he believes the entire incident was captured by security cameras.
