Today is Amy Winehouse’s 28th birthday. Alas, the singer – like Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain – never made it past 27. She tragically died in her London flat back in July. On this occasion, we reflect on a star whose flame burned out far too soon, a victim of her addictions and certain nameless individuals who fed them. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse (1983-2011) . While we would just as soon forget BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL , Amy’s musical legacy lives on. She transformed British music and influenced countless artists.
