Lauren Bacall, a legendary actress who got her start back in 1944 and worked for six decades in cinema, has passed away. She was 89 years old. Bacall’s death was confirmed by the Humphrey Bogart Estate via Facebook. “With deep sorrow for the magnitude of our loss, yet with great gratitude for her amazing life, we confirm the passing of Lauren Bacall,” read the online message posted this evening. Bacall appeared in the Harper’s Bazaar cover when she was 19 and was signed by Warner Bros. in 1943. She appeared in a Hemingway novel adaption (To Have and Have Not) in 1944 and married Humphrey Bogart a year later. She and the famous actor were parents to a son (Stephen) and a daughter (Leslie), though Bogat died in 1957.
