NEW YORK (Billboard) – Could a Chris Brown and Justin Bieber duet be debuting the near future? According to the older R&B/pop singer, the two have joined forces for a new song set to premiere early next year. Brown posted a note about the collaboration via Twitter on Christmas Day, writing, “ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!! 2011 #BREEZYTAKEOVER” There’s been no official comment yet from Bieber’s camp about the collaboration, which would be Brown’s most high-profile yet since he plead guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna , in 2009. The scandal dealt a major blow to Brown’s career, though the singer has recently made inroads toward a comeback: his current single, “Yeah 3X,” is at No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 . Brown also finished the domestic violence counseling sessions he was required to take as part of his sentencing for the assault, posting a photo of his certificate of completion on Twitter last week. Bieber, meanwhile, has been a fan of Brown’s since before his rise to fame. One of his most popular YouTube videos remains a cover of a Brown’s “With You” performed on acoustic guitar, a clip uploaded in February of 2008. It’s unclear whether the new pairing would for Brown’s next album or Bieber’s, which is already confirmed to include a musical partnering with country group Rascal Flatts . (Editing by Zorianna Kit )
