Aside from the help in the back, there were only 3 (or 7) Blacks at this year’s very white Emmy Awards with Kerry Washington being the ONLY reason why Black America tuned in. Nominated for her provocative role as “Olivia Pope”–high-powered “fixer”/sophisticated side chick–on “Scandal,” Kerry would’ve been the first Black actress to ever win Best Actress in a Drama but lost to Claire Danes (“Homeland”) and, as always, Black Twitter exploded.
