You raised him up — to the heights of a movie star, I mean! Josh Groban, the affable Oprah favorite with the groin-jitteringly rich voice, was a major perk of Crazy, Stupid, Love as Emma Stone’s all-wrong boyfriend Richard. Now he’s set to star on something called “television” as Ed Helms’ onscreen brother on The Office . Are we at the dawn of Josh Groban’s big-time jump to screen stardom?

Do You Have Any Questions for Marilu Henner’s Extraordinary Autobiographical Memory?

Last night on 60 Minutes , Leslie Stahl interviewed the only six people known to have hyperthymesia, or “superior autobiographical memory.” These folks can recall nearly every day of their lives and remember tons of minutia from any calendar date (like the weather, expressions on people’s faces, and their own feelings), all with impossible speed. Mysteriously, one of these half-dozen savants is former Taxi / Evening Shade actress Marilu Henner. The 58-year-old has an unbelievable historical memory, and she can name the exact dates on which she bought every pair of shoes in her giant closet. On that note, what a perfect occasion to ask the affable-seeming Henner some super-specific movie-and-TV-related questions (especially since she has a book coming out about the subject in spring). Contribute your own!

American Idol Performance of the Week: Siobhan Magnus’ "Paint it Black"

Some fans were floored by it, and others weren’t impressed, but it’s safe to say that 19-year-old Siobhan Magnus’ rendition of “Paint it Black” was definitely the most buzzed-about of this week’s 12 American Idol performances . The judges loved it, though Simon even acknowledged that a lot of people are likely to dislike her flamboyant style. That’s a compliment, as it beats indifference. We gotta give it up to Siobhan Magnus for upping the drama, paying tribute to this Rolling Stones classic, yet being original and keeping us riveted throughout. Here’s the performance if you missed it or want another look … Siobhan Magnus: Paint it Black What do you think? The night’s best, or not worth the hype some gave it? Can Siobhan compete for the American Idol title or will she fade fast?

Ryan and Simon Butt Heads on American Idol

There were lots of strong performances among the finalists on American Idol , but the most memorable moment of the night may have come from Ryan Seacrest. After Simon Cowell called out Michael Lynche for “corny” dance moves, Ryan not only came to the affable singer’s defense, he got in Simon’s grill in the process. The normally unflappable judge was taken aback – and scooted his seat back, throwing his hands up and admitting he was very uncomfortable. Point, Seacrest! Chalk up another memorable exchange in one of Hollywood’s ongoing rivalries / friendships. We never quite know what to make of the dynamic between them. Ryan definitely threw Simon off here, though, which was funny and uncomfortable. Check out the clip below of the two stars almost butting heads … literally: Ryan and Simon Butt Heads
