CBS is moving forward with a How I Met Your Mother spinoff . The network confirmed this week that creator Carter Bays will write and produce a pilot titled How I Met Your Dad that will follow the same premise as his previous long-running drama, though the new series will be told from a female perspective. CBS is referring to the spinoff as a “kindred spirit” to How I Met Your Mother, though Bays has taken to Twitter and shot down talk that fresh characters will be introduced on the How I Met Your Mother Season 9 finale. “This will be its own, totally new show,” Bays Tweeted.
