WELP! Complaint Filed Against Amber Guyger Hugging Judge Tammy Kemp—‘Inappropriate & Unconstitutional!’

Source: Mesquite PD / Mesquite PD Judge Tammy Kemp Criticized For Amber Guyger Hug The Judge who bizarrely bestowed a bible and a hug to a CONVICTED MURDERER is facing a formal complaint. As previously reported jaws dropped when people saw not only Botham Jean’s brother hug Amber Guyger —but presiding Judge Tammy Kemp who also sweetened the gesture by giving Guyger a bible. “You can have mine. I have three or four more at home,” Kemp said to Guyger while giving her the bible. “This is your job for the next month. Right here, John 3:16.” Judge Tammy Kemp steps off the bench, hands Amber Guyger her personal bible and tells her to read and live John 3:16, then hugs Guyger. The Associated Press reports that the Freedom From Religion Foundation complained that Kemp “went too far” and called her actions “inappropriate and unconstitutional.” “Delivering Bibles and personally witnessing as a judge is an egregious abuse of power,” the foundation wrote in a letter to Texas officials. Kemp “transmitted her personal religious beliefs as a state official in an official proceeding of the gravest nature.” Mind you The Freedom From Religion Foundation is a secular Wisconsin-based group that routinely files lawsuits challenging religious displays in government. And while you might not agree with them protesting religious displays, the egregiousness of the hug still stands. Judge Kemp is being defended however by former Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins. Watkins is an esteemed Attorney who became the first black elected district attorney in Texas history. “It’s just her Christian nature,” said Watkins according to AP . Kemp, he said, would pray when their office tackled complex cases. “You’re having people of color that have the opportunity to make judges now,” Watkins said. “Their life experience and their religious points of view are different than what we’ve seen in the past. That’s just the evolution of our judicial system.” WELP! What do YOU think about Judge Kemp getting flagged for coddling a convict??? We know what WE think about it…

Family Of Botham Jean To Sue Officer Amber Guyger, City Of Dallas

Image via Splash/Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Botham Jean’s Family Suing Amber Guyger The family of Botham Jean is preparing to file a lawsuit against the officer who killed him and the city of Dallas, Texas. NBC News reports that Jean family Attorney Lee Merritt announced that there will be a lawsuit against now-fired Dallas police officer Amber Guyge r and the city of Dallas. Guyger is facing a manslaughter charge for fatally shooting Jean September 6 after she “mistook his apartment for her own.” No word yet on when the suit will be filed. This is pretty common practice with police brutality cases. Remember when the city of Baltimore paid Freddie Gray’s family $6.5 million???  It’s not a conviction or an admission of guilt, but we’re sure it helps with the unjust pain and suffering. WE HOPE BOTHAM JEAN’S FAMILY GETS ALLLL THE MONEY THEY DESERVE.

There’s Growing Concern That Police Are Not Seriously Investigating The Murder Of Botham Jean

D oubts are increasing that law enforcement officials will conduct a thorough investigation into the killing of Botham Jean , an unarmed Black man who was shot dead in his own apartment by a Dallas police officer. SEE ALSO: Botham Jean’s Mother Demands Justice And Calls Out ‘The Devil,’ Amber Guyger S. Lee Merritt , one of the civil rights attorneys representing Jean’s family, retweeted a message on Saturday night from activist Shaun King that’s adding fuel to the concerns. “A key eyewitness told us today that investigators didn’t take a single note when they interviewed her. Said they never called her back. We asked the DA if they had even heard that this witness existed and the DA said the Texas Rangers never even mentioned the witness,” King tweeted. In an earlier post, King said a sixth person joined other witnesses who contradicted Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger ’s version of how the shooting unfolded. BREAKING: Another close neighbor of Botham Jean came forward today to say that they also heard Dallas Police Officer Amber Guyger in the hallway, banging on the door, yelling for Botham to open the door. That’s SIX witnesses who say this happened. Debunks her fabrications. — Shaun King (@shaunking) September 16, 2018 Dallas’ Black community had hoped that the conviction in August of a white former officer , Roy Oliver , who shot unarmed Black teenager Jordan Edwards in the head was a turning point in the city’s long history of cops going unpunished for killing Black people. But the investigation into the slaying of Jean suggests to many that things have not changed, the Dallas Morning News reported. “We consider that to be progress. But whether it’s precedent or some kind of aberration, only time will tell,” John Fullinwider , co-founder of Dallas’ Mothers Against Police Brutality, said of the Oliver verdict as he attended Jean’s vigil. Many have complained about the police giving Guyger special treatment. She has stated multiple and conflicting versions of the circumstances that led to the shooting. Guyger claimed that she mistakenly entered Jean’s apartment, thinking that it was her own place, and shot 26-year-old Jean. It took days for law enforcement officials to arrest her. Neighbors have said they heard Guyger banging on Jean’s door , but the officer has claimed that it was open when she entered. “If she had been arrested like anyone would be, the community would have felt a little more at ease. There’s no story, of the multiple stories she’s told, that should not have prompted an arrest on the spot,” said Edwin Robinson , executive director of the religious-based network Faith in Texas. Bogus Blue Bastards: Botham Jean’s Mother Speaks Out Against Smear Campaign Being Run By Dallas Police

Image via Joel Saget/Getty Botham Jean’s Mother Speaks Out Against Smear Campaign F**k the police . Periodt. Botham Jean ‘s mother is sick and tired of the f***ery that is currently taking place within the Dallas Police Department. The boys and girls in blue are doing everything in their power to besmirch Botham’s good name. A name that, according to what family lawyer Lee Merritt told CNN , had never once been associated with crime or arrest in his 26 years of life. “The Dallas Police Department investigators were interested specifically in finding information that could help assassinate his character,” attorney Lee Merritt told reporters. “Twenty-six years on this earth he lived his life without a blemish. It took being murdered by a Dallas police officer for Botham Jean to suddenly become a criminal.” Jean’s mother also had words for the people who are protecting the woman who murdered her son. “I’m calling on the Dallas officials … please come clean. Give me justice for my son because he does not deserve what he got,” Allison Jean said. There aren’t even proper words to describe the unbridled anger that we feel toward cops when things like this happen. Then they have the nerve to chide Black folks for wearing socks with pigs on them…
