Lady Gaga Wants Scooter Braun to Save Her Career Following Disappointing Album Sales

Lil Wayne might want Scooter Braun dead , but Justin Bieber’s manager still has plenty of fans within the music industry. Lady Gaga, for example, apparently admires what Braun has been able to do with Bieber’s career so much that she wants the 32-year-old mogul to help her recover from recent popularity slump. “If anyone can help Gaga now, it’s Scooter,” a source tells Huffington Post. “He’s one of the smartest blokes in the music industry and made Bieber the biggest pop star on the planet. There are few options for her right now, but Scooter is one of them.” While still one of the most recognized singers on the planet, Gaga’s album and concert ticket sales over the past year have been lower than expected. Gaga’s latest single “G.U.Y.” failed to crack the top 40 on American charts – a first for the Mother Monster. “Gaga’s next album will be make or break,” says the insider. “At the moment she’s still to decide who will manage her.” Gaga fired manager Troy Carter late last year, citing “creative differences” as the cause for their terminated partnership. Some have suggested that Gaga’s recent behavior shows signs of the singer’s frustration with her stalling career. Earlier this month, Gaga attacked Katy Perry on Twitter for stealing her ideas. 31 WTF? Lady Gaga Photos 1. That’s Lady Gaga For You Seriously. That’s Lady Gaga summed up in one photo basically.

Weekend Receipts: Shrek the Third

Not once in 2009 did a movie lead the box office for three or more straight weeks. Here in 2010, though, that trick has been turned by Avatar , Alice in Wonderland and now Shrek Forever After — the animated sequel easily held off newcomers Get Him to the Greek and Killers to retain the top spot for a third straight week. And while other new releases Marmaduke and Splice failed to crack the top-ten, the biggest loser of the weekend was — once again — MacGruber : The comedy shed over 2,300 screens and dropped 93.9 percent in its third week. Yikes squared. Say a prayer for Will Forte and click ahead for some weekend receipts.

‘Twilight’ Leaves Its Mark On ‘Popular Baby Names’ List

Jacob, Isabella are top male/female names, and Cullen makes a strong showing. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Entertainment The popularity of “Twilight,” “Vampire Diaries” and other similarly themed pop-culture phenomena has certainly left a deep mark on the entertainment world — but has it left a more literal impression on generations to come? According to the recently released Social Security Administration’s annual “Popular Baby Names” list, it seems that parents have been naming their newborns after “Twilight” characters. According to the report, which tracked the most popular baby names of 2009, the top two names for male and female babies were Jacob and Isabella, which also happen to be the names of two of the main characters in the “Twilight” saga, Jacob Black and Bella Swan, respectively. Both names have been “popular” — in or close to the top 10 — for several years (Jacob has been in the top spot for 11 years), but it is the increased popularity of the name Cullen (after Meyer’s beloved Edward) at #485, having jumped 297 spots from #782 in 2008, that raises the eyebrow. It is also surprising that the first name of Bella’s paramour, Edward, didn’t crack the top 50. (It came in at #137 in popularity for 2009). The 10 most popular girls’ names, in order, are: Isabella, Emma, Olivia, Sophia, Ava, Emily, Madison, Abigail, Chloe and Mia. The 10 most popular boys’ name, also in order, are: Jacob, Ethan, Michael, Alexander, William, Joshua, Daniel, Jayden, Noah and Anthony. Would you name your child after a “Twilight” character? Or any fictional character, for that matter? And what will these kids think of their names in 15-20 years, once they’re old enough to understand what inspired their parents’ choices?
