Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty M amie Till-Mobley, mother of Emmett Till, will be the central focus for season one of ABC’s Women of the Movement, a new series that will highlight and chronicle the civil-rights movement “as told by the women behind it.” The series will be produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith, both of whom were vital to securing the show a spot on ABC’s lineup. The show will focus on Mamie Till, whose son — Emmett Till — was lynched by a white mob in Mississippi for allegedly winking at a white woman in 1955. Following his death, Till-Mobley went on to join a forces with major players in the fight for civil rights justice following her son’s death. She dedicated the rest of her life to the civil justice and reform until her own passing in 2003. Jay-Z originally teamed up with HBO to work on a miniseries surround Emmet Till, where Taraji P. Henson was set to play his mother, but when director John Middleton died in April, the project was believed to be dissolved. It is not confirmed, but speculated that Women of the Movement is a the product of the work already done into the aforementioned miniseries surround Till. When proposed with the possibility of grabbing the rights to this, ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke instantly loved the idea as the series would turn attention to the women who were responsible for so many key events associated with the civil rights movement. This move aligns perfectly with Burke’s proposition to get more women in programming at the station.
Previously, Ashley Martson has claimed that Jay Smith's GoFundMe page is pure fraud . Now, she has some words to say about the woman running it. She says that Kayla, who has allegedly been dating Jay since January, may have a special reason to want Jay out of prison. Ashley says that she strongly suspects that Jay has knocked up his side-piece-turned-girlfriend. That girl has now opened up about the topic, but insists that Ashley doesn't really know as much about her as she thinks. And then there's a huge twist in this story that no one saw coming. According to Ashley, Jay has been dating a “stripper-turned-bottle-service-girl” since January of this year. 3. She didn’t name the side piece Tastefully, she’s not calling out the girl by name, but she did confirm that she’s referring to the young woman who is running Jay’s GoFundMe. That woman is Kayla O’Brien. 4. Ashley says SHE, not Kayla, is in a position to help Jay “Honestly, I could get Jay out of the detention center tomorrow if I wanted to,” Ashley shared. “The fact that I refused to sponsor him and sign his green card is why he’s in the detention center right now.” 5. But she’s not going to do that Filing that paperwork wouldn’t just be doing labor for someone who doesn’t deserve her help — it would be putting herself in an awkward position. She would have to act as Jay’s sponsor and be “responsible for him for 10 years.” 6. She has an extra reason for not doing that “From what I saw … she was at court … she definitely looked like she could have been expecting … ,” Ashley revealed. “If I would sign my name on that, I would be responsible for [Jay’s] child support for another child. Now, the rapper and executive is dipping his hand in an upcoming revenge flick for Netflix. According to Shadow and Act , the streaming site is producing The Harder They Fall starring Jonathan Majors , who’s best known for his role in the acclaimed movie The Last Black Man in San Francisco . In The Harder They Fall , Majors will play Nat Love, an outlaw who seeks revenge once he learns that the man who murdered his parents 20 years ago is about to be released from prison. Love brings his old gang back together to hunt down the killer. The movie will be directed by Jeymes Samuel , who worked with Jay on The Great Gatsby soundtrack under the pseudonym The Bullits . Jay-Z will serve as a producer on the movie along with Samuel, Lawrence Bender and James Lassiter , who’s long been associated with some of Will Smith ‘s well known movies. Majors will surely bring his talent to this new flick, considering his Oscar-worthy performance in The Last Black Man in San Francisco. He seems to be keeping a busy schedule with his next project being Jordan Peele and Misha Green ‘s HBO series Lovecraft Country . Majors also just wrapped Spike Lee ‘s 2020 feature Da 5 Bloods with Chadwick Boseman and Delroy Lindo . That film will also hit Netflix in the near future. A star on the rise, no doubt. It’s an exciting time for the members of Arkansas’ second most-famous family. (Sorry, but the bajillionaire Waltons are tough to beat.) We’re in the midst of a veritable Duggar baby boom with no fewer than 5 Duggar women currently expecting. That’s a dream come true for Michelle and Jim Bob, who are firm believers that they were put on this planet for the primary purpose of being fruitful and multiplying. At this rate, in a couple decades’ time, the Duggars will have enough grandchildren and great-grandchildren to tip the scales of an Arkansas gubernatorial election and finally give Jim Bob that political career he’s always wanted. But as thrilled as JB is to see his many kids having many kids, the process of a global Duggar takeover may not be happening as quickly as he had hoped: You see, there are five adult Duggar children who are currently unmarried, and that just doesn’t jibe with Jim Bob’s worldview. The Duggar patriarch is an adherent of the Quiverfull movement , which holds that it’s the duty of each and every Christian to sire as many offspring as humanly possible. So you can bet four of the five single Duggars over the age of 18 will be married before long. The third may be a tough nut for Jim Bob to crack. As you’re probably aware, 29-year-old Jana Duggar is still single , and she seems to have every intention of staying that way. When her twin brother John David Duggar married Abbie Burnett back in November, Jana became the oldest single Duggar. You might think that would make her Jim Bob’s top priority, but it seems he’s accepted the fact that Jana is content with her current situation. That places the focus squarely on 20-year-old twins Jedediah and Jeremiah. (Jason and James Duggar are 19 and 18, respectively, and while Jim Bob is no doubt eyeing courtship prospects, he tends to prefer that his kids get married in order of age.) Insiders say the smart money is on Jeremiah, who’s considered to be the “heartthrob” of the family. Last year, there were rumors that Jeremiah was courting a mystery woman, but nothing ever came of the alleged romance. Of course, there have been rumors about Jedidiah, too — but the Duggars have been quick to sweep those reports under the rug. Back in 2017, a source informed The Hollywood Gossip that Jedidiah courted Kendra Caldwell before her relationship with Joseph Duggar, but Jim Bob decided Joe should marry Kendra, as he’s the older brother. We may never know for certain exactly what happened there, but the fact that the rumor is considered plausible is a testament to the amount of control that Jim Bob exerts over his kids’ love lives.
