She took the show “Weeds” a little bit too seriously. According to TMZ Heidi Fleiss is a Mary Jane baron … so say authorities in Nevada who charged the former Hollywood madam with sticky icky possession after finding nearly 400 plants on her property, TMZ has learned. According to law enforcement, officials pulled up to Heidi’s home in Pahrump on August 7 looking for another woman … when they stumbled upon a gigantic drug farm. Eventually, officers made contact with Heidi … who admitted to owning the plants and said she was growing the mean green for a “cooperative in Las Vegas.” Problem is … Heidi doesn’t have a license to grow. Cops say … in total, they found 392 suspected Mary Jane plants — which were all collected as evidence. Fleiss was charged with several crimes — including possession of sticky icky with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a home where drugs are sold/used. However, cops say Fleiss was NOT arrested … “due to the fact that she has approximately $200,000 worth of exotic birds in the residence plus she gave us consent to search without a warrant and was very cooperative throughout the investigation.” Heidi needs to study real drug dealers and learn how not to get caught. The Cassius Jay-produced song, featured on August Alsina’s upcoming EP, Downtown: Life Under the Gun (August 20), features the singer infatuated over Mary Jane. While placing the finishing touches on his EP, Alsina is prepping his Def Jam debut album that he says is “really personal.” “All I can say is you’re going to get to know me on a whole different level,” he told Billboard. “When I was working on some songs, I was saying to myself, ‘Damn. How much do I give to the people?’ I’ve never been the type of person to tell my business. I feel like if I don’t give them my all, I’m cheating myself and I’m cheating them. League and Daz will also appear on forthcoming album, Spitta tells MTV News By Rob Markman Curren$y Photo: MTV News Throughout his career, Curren$y has kept his collaborations organic, bypassing flavor-of-the-month rap features. And on his upcoming Warner Bros. album The Stoned Immaculate, he will continue to do so, even if the names in the LP’s credits get a little bigger. When the NOLA MC drops his next album later this year, fans can look forward to beats from Pharrell , J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, DJ Toomp and Virginia producer Bink, who famously crafted a number of tracks for Jay-Z’s 2001 classic The Blueprint. “This is a different look than anything I’ve usually done,” Curren$y told MTV News. “Usually I work with one person, or try to keep it to just, like, two producers on a project.” On 2010’s Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk 2, Curren$y worked mostly with Ski Beatz, and on his 2011 Weekend at Burnie’s, he tapped Monsta Beatz to take the production helm. Now Curren$y is ready to branch out. “Bink produced ‘What It Look Like,’ ” Curren$y said in reference to The Stoned Immaculate ‘s first single, featuring Wale. “Pharrell produced a joint for me. Daz did two joints and rapped on one of them for me. “It’s a mutual thing. I only work with people who I have a real conversation with and nothing is forced,” he continued. Curren$y’s not only recruiting big-name producers for his next LP, he also hooked up with some pretty notable MCs. “I got 2 Chainz on my album,” he revealed, noting that he was friends with the Atlanta star back when he used to go by his original rap name in the early 2000s. “Me and 2 Chainz been cool since it was me and Tity Boi was cool.” Now that Curren$y is the head of his own record company, Jet Life Recordings, he feels he has to use his relationships to his advantage. “It’s not that I did different and reached out, I kinda cashed in on my friendships,” he said. “I’m trying to get more attention towards my crew … I have to draw more eyes and play ball to make it easier for everybody else.” Which collaborations do you anticipate most on Curren$y’s The Stoned Immaculate ? ‘You work with artists, and then that way, your music will stand,’ Curren$y tells MTV News of picking producers. By Alvin Blanco Curren$y Photo: MTV News New Orleans rapper Curren$y has a fresh deal with Warner Bros. Records, but it’s not stopping him from releasing free music. The former Young Money Records signee made his name in the hip-hop world via prolific mixtape releases that helped land him on the cover of XXL Magazine’s 2009 Freshmen cover. Now, Curren$y will be releasing the Covert Coup mixtape April 20. The album will be available for download at CurrensySpitta.com . Covert Coup is produced by Alchemist (Eminem, Mobb Deep, Nas), and guests include Freddie Gibbs and Prodigy. The mixtape came together after Spitta and Alchemist connected to record only one song. “I was going to do one record and give it away, that night, but we did three,” Curren$y told MTV News. “We did one; I was like, ‘We’ll give this one away.’ Then [Alchemist] was like, ‘Well, we need another one to make up for that one.’ So we did one, and I was like, ‘Yo, let me hear that other beat that you played before you played the one we just did,’ and then that turned into another one. And three is, like, 10. You might as well go ahead and get it done.” Curren$y is comfortable collaborating on projects where one producer oversees the bulk of the beats. He released a pair of albums last year ( Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk 2 ) that were handled almost entirely by Ski Beatz (Jay-Z, Camp Lo). “Producers, that’s an art. So you work with artists, not hustlers,” Curren$y explained. “Not people just milling beats. It’s like beat mills, don’t do that. You work with artists, and then that way, your music will stand. You’re not trying to sell 10 million records right now. Sell that over time. Sell it to where you’re 50 and your records still selling because people who grew up with you are trying to show their kids what’s effed up about the game, and then they go to the record store and buy your record to play that for them.” On the day of Covert Coup ‘s release, Curren$y will kick off a nationwide Jet Life Tour that runs through June. Its first show, in New Orleans, will be streamed live to Los Angeles and New York.
