Kanye West Has Kardashian Sisters Helping Him In The Studio Kanye’s getting ready to drop his first album in nearly three years, and has been teasing it with randomly dropped singles here and there for months. But apparently Kanye is employing the professional opinions of DJ Jazzy Jenner and her fresh princesses as he mixes and masters the tracks that will make up his 8th studio release, “Swish.” According to Khloe, ‘Ye is alternating Kardashian krew member studio sessions and picking their brains to figure out what sounds best… According to a recent interview with Cosmopolitan : Did you hear the new Kanye songs that came out today? I did not today, but I’ve heard his whole album. His studio is at his house, so we go to his house all the time. I’ve heard the songs, I just don’t know which ones came out. It was “Real Friends”— OK, I’ve heard “Real Friends.” And a snippet of “No More Parties in L.A.” His album is so good. So I’m confused, is this not an album? We’re just giving away music? Khloe already seems to be somewhat lost on how single releases work…so the next tidbit she shares is even more confusing. He has so many songs that we — I act like I’m recording them — that he can’t figure out what he wants to put on his album. And they’re all genuinely terrific songs. So maybe that’s why he’s doing that. You’re one of the lucky few who’s heard it. I know, it’s really cool. And he really cares about our opinions, which I find even cooler. Because we’re not artists, obviously, but he respects what we say so much. He is so passionate. He’s like, every bit the meaning of an artist. He’s so into his craft, and just to see him at work and see how much he respects our opinions, all of us sisters, he wants us all in the studio at different times. Thank god we all live a block away from each other. Hopefully Kanye is taking in some backup opinions. We’ve watched Kim & krew awkwardly and aimlessly clap along at a Yeezus show, so we can say with some confidence that the ONLY member of that family that could possibly give Kanye some solid feedback on his musical direction is North! Winners of MTV’s ‘American Idiot’ contest got big surprise at end of musical. Photo: MTV News On Thursday night, winners of MTV’s “American Idiot” contest were not only treated to a great show — but a surprise mini concert by Green Day , with the band playing “American Idiot” and “Basket Case,” too. So, all in all, it was a pretty great night. “I think I had heart failure! It was the most amazing experience,” contest winner Fallyn Ruzzi told MTV News following the show. “I mean, the play was great, and then Green Day played songs, too!” Ruzzi was just one of the 300 lucky winners, who flocked to New York’s St. James Theater hours before the performance was even scheduled to begin, waited in line to pick up their tickets to the musical, and then got to witness a post-show performance by Green Day, who took the stage and blasted through “American Idiot” and “Basket Case.” It took most of the audience completely by surprise. “We had heard Green Day weren’t even going to be here,” Ruzzi said. “It was amazing when they came out!” But what did Ruzzi — and other winners — think of the show itself? Well, as might expect, they were blown away by the production. But, like most hard-core Green Day fans, when they first heard the band was taking “Idiot” to Broadway, she had her doubts. “I didn’t like the idea of Green Day coming to Broadway at first — I thought it was a bad idea,” Ruzzi said. “But then I heard the songs from the Berkeley Rep [performances] and I just fell in love with it.” Echoing those sentiments were Ruzzi’s friend — and fellow Green Day enthusiast — Toni Ann Graffigna, who was also skeptical of the album coming to the Great White Way, but, after seeing the show, she’s now firmly a believer. “I wasn’t that crazy about the idea at first, but it’s Green Day, you gotta give it a chance,” she said. “The whole show touched my heart. I would see it every day, if I could.
