Sometimes it seems like in 2014, you’re not really famous until the whole world has seen your genitals. If that’s the case, then 5 Seconds of Summer bassist Calum Hood skyrocketed to the A-list over night, as his ill-advised wang selfie has has now gone viral online. Of course, Calum’s Aussie pop rock band 5 Seconds of Summer has yet to become a household name in the States, so his dong hasn’t received the level of obsessive attention lavished upon, say, Jon Hamm’s penis . (Or even Idris Elba’s microphone wire , for that matter.) Even so, on the scale of dick pic notoriety with Brett Favre’s famous photo being a 10, and your ex-boyfriend’s naked “u up?” booty call selfie being a 1, Calum’s Snap Chat mishap is probably about a 7 or 8. Fortunately, Calum turned 18 in January, so while the pic might be a shameless publicity stunt, it at least won’t result in any sort of federal investigation. Unlike with the Scarlett Johansson nude photos of 2011, this leak didn’t result from phone hacking. Calum simply sent the pic to a female “friend” who then decided to share the screen shot with the world. Hood responded to the incident online, writing, “I’m still just a teenage kid learning from mistakes ;)” Yeah, you’re also a semi-famous teenage kid, dude. Let’s be clear: Idris Elba may have a very large penis. It’s entirely possible. But the veteran actor took to Twitter today to shoot down talk that photos of him on the set of a movie in London depict this sizable private part, after the following pictures went viral and had women everywhere in a tizzy. “The good news is i got a sh*t load of followers. The bad news is, that is a mic wire,” Elba wrote. The actor, best known for roles in The Wire and Luther, hilariously added the hashtag “#egowentintospaceshipmodethough.” HA! Very well played, sir. Credit to Elba for actually coming out and ending chatter over his junk.
