Contagion, the latest film from director Steven Soderbergh, asks this question as it follows the rapid progress of a lethal airborne virus that kills within days, leaving the medical community scrambling to somehow curtail the outbreak. Anchored by Oscar winners Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Marion Cotillard and Soderbergh (plus Jude Law and Laurence Fishburne), it’s equal parts ensemble film, thriller, international espionage tale and medical mystery. Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes: New Couple Alert!

Based on their respective levels of hotness, this seems about right, doesn’t it? Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are reportedly dating, as the new couple was spotted over the weekend at Disneyland. “They were very playful,” a witness tells Us Weekly , which has published photos of the pair together. “Eva was skipping around like a little girl… She would lean into him and she held his arm the entire time.” Mendes and Gosling have been friends for awhile, but an insider says they’ve grown extra close while shooting The Place Beyond the Pines , adding: “There’s always been this strong chemistry between them…this was just a matter of time!” Eva does know how to pick a man. Chaz Bono: "Regular Guy" Making "Positive Impact"

Chaz Bono believes his controversial stint on Dancing with the Stars will be good for America due of its “positive impact on kids with gender dysphoria.” He said, “When I was growing up, if I would have seen someone like me on a show like this, it would have made all the difference in the world.” Bono told Good Morning America that it’s “crazy” people are boycotting the show and that despite all he’s gone through, he’s just “a regular guy.” Meanwhile, attorney Gloria Allred and lesbian rights activists will hold (what else) a news conference today to protest Dr. Keith Ablow and others decrying Bono. There will be dance and viewing parties across the U.S. for DWTS ‘ September 19 season premiere, and Gloria encouraged everyone to openly support Chaz. Allred says she’ll be personally doing her part in that mission, offering to “dance with every transgender person ” who shows up at the L.A. party. Who could pass up that offer? [Photo: WENN.com]
