Supreme Court Rules That Cyntoia Brown Must Serve 51 Years Before She’s Eligible For Release

Source: Daniel Truta / EyeEm / Getty Cyntoia Brown Ordered To Serve 51 Years Before She’s Eligible For Release The shocking case of Cyntoia Brown has taken a turn. As previously reported Cyntoia’s case made national headlines after celebs drew national attention to her story and she was featured in a PBS documentary titled “Me Facing Life: Cyntoia’s Story.” Cyntoia’s been imprisoned since she was 16 after she killed a 40-year-old man who bought her while she was sex trafficked. According to Cyntoia she was acting in self-defense. Now according to a Tennessee Supreme Court, there’s no way Cyntoia, now 30, will be out anytime soon. CNN reports that the court ruled that she m ust serve at least 51 years in prison before she’s eligible for release. All five judges were unanimous in their decision that was in response to a lawsuit where Cyntoia claimed that her mandatory life sentence was unconstitutional. “Under state law, a life sentence is a determinate sentence of 60 years. However, the sixty-year sentence can be reduced by up to 15 percent, or 9 years, by earning various sentence credits,” wrote the court in response to the suit. Brown has appealed the decision and it’s pending before the U.S. Sixth Court of Appeals. Her story is generating buzz again and the Women’s March participants are planning to march for her in January. Marching for women means marching for #CyntoiaBrown . But the #WomensWave can do more than march, and we can do it NOW: Contact Gov. @BillHaslam and demand he pardon her. Gov. Haslam has the power to #FreeCyntoia . Every day she remains in prison, he is actively choosing not to. https://t.co/pZUeGmlU0S — Women's March (@womensmarch) December 9, 2018

Khloe Kardashian: I Lied to Lamar Odom About My Infertility!

Something strange has happened … something that’s happened so few times in the history of the world that we have no clue how to handle it. Something went down on Keeping Up with the Kardashians has really, truly surprised us. After all, the show is called Keeping Up with the Kardashians for a reason — it’s not Finding Out About the Kardashians. Everything that’s happened on the show is pretty much a recap of things we already know have happened in real life , so it’s hard to come across any new information. Or at least any new information that’s actually interesting. But that’s all changing now. Yesterday, we saw a sneak peek of Khloe Kardashian visiting her doctor to talk about her fertility . She learned that she has fewer follicles on her ovaries than the average 32-year-old woman, meaning that when she does try to get pregnant, she could have a hard time. Khloe seemed shocked, but we honestly didn’t understand why. After all, as we’d seen on earlier seasons of the show and in several episodes of that old gem, Khloe and Lamar, she tried for a long time to conceive with Lamar Odom. It never happened for them, and since Lamar had fathered children before, we assumed that something must be going on with Khloe. But, according to information Khloe reveals in another sneak peek  from the E! reality staple, that’s not exactly the case. In the clip, which shows another part of her doctor’s appointment, she says that she’s never been pregnant before, but she has tried. Sort of. She clarifies, “I fake-tried.” Hmm? Come again? “I was married,” Khloe explains, “but I knew the circumstances weren’t the healthiest , so I just kept pretending I was trying.” In a confessional, the reality star says that “when I was doing my fertility treatments, like, they were more so for Lamar.” “I had to stop because there was much deeper stuff that was happening in our marriage.” “I knew, you knew, that it wasn’t the right kind of situation to bring a child into, and I think I’ve done a lot of covering up for him.” “Like, even when it made me look like I was the problem,” she adds. “But I was fine taking on that burden on my shoulders because he had a lot of other, deeper sh-t to deal with .” It makes sense — on all those delightful reality shows, Khloe and Lamar seemed to have a perfect, adorable marriage, but that obviously wasn’t the case. We know that he cheated on her, and that he struggled with addiction even while they were together, but we still don’t know the extent of their problems. But now we can conclude this: If she felt the need to lie about trying for a baby, it’s safe to say that things were worse than we ever could have imagined. Let’s see Steph Curry Try to Make THIS Shot

Sorry, Stephen Curry. You had a nice run at the Best Shooter in the History of the World and everything. You've got an MVP trophy and a championship to show for it. But Amanda Ramey has clearly now taken your title. See, Ramey and her daughter, Grace, raised the most money in a school fundraiser at Bethany Academy in Bloomington, Minnesota. As a result, they earned three opportunities to make a half-court basketball shot and knock $4,000 off tuition next year, as first documented by My Fanatic . Grace attempted the first two shots and failed. So she then handed the ball to her mom and encouraged Amanda to give it a try. With the crowd cheering and with her daughter egging her on, Amanda let her shot fly, under-handed. Sadly, however, it bounced on the court long before it even reached the rim, ending the hopes and dreams of the Ramey family. Oh well. Nice try. They get an A for their efforts and can now go home and… WAIT A SECOND! NO WAY! NO CHANCE! DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN?!?!? Watch the video all the way until the end to see how Amanda did earn $4,000 offer Grace's tuition despite her shot coming up way short. You won't believe where the ball ends up after hitting the ground.

Courteney Cox & Matthew Perry: Dating?!

Could this couple BE any more perfect? Yes, readers of a certain age, prepare yourself for a wave of Clinton-era nostalgia: Chandler and Monica might be one another’s lobsters in real life. Several sources are reporting that Courteney Cox and Matthew Perry are more than just friends (sorry), and have actually begun dating. The news comes on the heels of reports that Cox was dumped by Johnny McDaid after several years of dating.  “It’s no surprise that Matthew was one of the first people Courteney called after Johnny left her,” a source tells Star magazine.  “They’ve leaned on each other before, during her infertility struggle and his battle with addiction.” Naturally, the news has us hoping for more hook-ups from the fictional land of massive, easily affordable Manhattan apartments. Sadly, the Ross and Rachel ship has sailed ( Thanks, Justin Theroux !) but Joey and Phoebe could still happen! Yes, Lisa Kudrow is married, but not, like, to anyone famous, and even though he’s moved on to a new series, Matt LeBlanc could probably use some support in getting over the cancelation of Joey. Sure, it was almost ten years ago, but that thing failed hard . Anyway, Cox and Perry together seems almost too good to be true, but let’s all agree to enjoy pleasant ’90s vibes while they last, shall we?
