Jill Duggar Welcomes Second Child!!!!!

The  Jill Duggar birth rumors have turned into a Jill Duggar birth reality. Which is to say the following, if you haven’t heard already: The TLC star has given birth to her second child! Following a few days of speculation of whether or not Duggar and husband Derick Dillard had welcomed baby number-two into the world, the famous couple has come out and confirmed the miraculous truth. “We are excited to finally announce the arrival of Samuel Scott Dillard,” Jill and Derick wrote on their website Saturday afternoon, adding in exciting detail: “The newest addition to our family arrived on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 1:02pm. He weighs 9lb 10oz and is 22” long.” “After 40 of labor, he was delivered via C-section at the hospital. “Thank you for your continued prayers and support!” Forty hours. They do not come easy for Jill! This precious bundle of joy joins two-year old brother Israel, whose birth was also a marathon event, as part of the immediate Duggar-Dillard family. Jill and Derick have been married since 2014 in their native Arkansas and announced their second pregnancy this past December. They opened up about their second child (and first child) in a TLC video in January, excerpts of which went as follows, courtesy of Dillard: “Israel didn’t really understand what was happening, but he’s just excited because other people are excited, so he’s just excited about his new little baby brother.” As were his loving parents. Added Jill at the time: “We’re really excited about having another son.” “I know that Israel and this little one will be best friends. …Thank y’all for your well wishes. We’re so excited about this new blessing from God.” The birth of little Samuel comes just over one month since his mother spoiled his name for the world , telling the world in a blog post on June 7: “We are so excited to announce the name of Baby Dillard #2! Samuel Scott Dillard. We can’t wait to welcome him to the world and have him join our family very soon!” Yes, Samuel Scott. It’s not Spurgeon or Israel. But it is biblical. Israel David Dillard was born in April of 2015, while sister Jessa Duggar has kids named Spurgeon Elliot and Henry Wilberforce. The Duggars aren’t just known for having many kids, they are known for having many kids with unusual first or middle names. (No judgment here, it’s worth noting. We’re just stating some facts. Jim Bob and Michelle picked 19 straight names beginning with J!) “Children really are a wonderful blessing from God,” Jill previously told unofficial family PR firm People Magazine, adding: “Having Israel has been such a delight to us that we know a second sweet baby will only continue to add joy to our family.” “We are thankful to God for this sweet child,” the 26-year-old gushed, “and we cannot wait to see her or him face to face!” And we can’t meet to see the first photos of Samuel Scott. We’d expect them to hit the Internet any day now and we’ll be sure to share them on The Hollywood Gossip as soon as they go live. In the meantime, we hope Jill recovers quickly and settles into a normal routine again (hopefully in Arkansas for awhile). The Dillards have taken considerable flak for traveling to Central America for mission work while she’s been pregnant. Still, it hasn’t deterred them to this point, and Jill seemed remarkably sanguine about the lifestyle the second time around. “There’s a level of ease that comes with your second pregnancy,” Jill said of the prospect of going through this again. “Derick and I have been down this road together, so we’re comfortable. I’m just going to see how it goes, try to be healthy and prepare as much as I can.” Until we’re privy to pictures of the latest Duggar baby, we send our very best wishes to Jill, Derick and their entire family! We wish nothing but the best for their newborn son. View Slideshow: Duggar Family Photos: Then & Now!

Derick Dillard Honors Father’s Death: Read His Tribute

Life is pretty good for Derick Dillard these days. He and Jill Duggar are expecting their second child ; the couple is already planning a second international missionary trip, and Derick recently embarked on a career as an educator. But despite his current run of good luck, Derick’s life has not been without its share of grief, and the reality star took time out this week to honor a loss that he still mourns nearly a decade after it occurred: Derick’s father, Rick Dillard, passed away nine years ago yesterday, and Derick paid loving tribute by posting the following photo, along with a caption reading: “Nine years ago today I said goodbye to the greatest man I knew. The greatest, namely, because he taught me in word and deed about Jesus Christ. “He protected and served the public as a police officer, and he loved God and his family. His time came sooner than expected, but I know he would have loved being grandpa Dillard to little Israel too. “He is my dad, and I look forward to seeing him again on the other side of eternity. Rick W. Dillard (1957-2008).” Derick doesn’t frequently talk about the loss of his father, but he pays tribute to the man whenever the occasion arises. At Jill and Derick’s wedding back in 2014,  “I’m so sorry for your loss. My father had been gone almost six years and I miss him every day,” one fan commented. “He was my world. We never get over it. Only used to it. God helps us understand.” Another follower observed a similarity between Risk Dillard and Derick’s young son, Israel Dillard, writing: “Your little man looks like your dad. I wondered were the blonde hair came from. Your dad sees him and watched over you all.” In the past, Derick has spoken about the profound impact his father had in shaping his spiritual beliefs. It’s not yet known where the Dillards will be headed in their next missionary journey, but wherever their travels might take them, it’s safe to say that Rick Dillard will be at the forefront of Derick’s mind. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar Visit the Dillards in El Salvador: Is Jill at Risk??

Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard embarked on a mission to El Salvador to do the Lord’s work, but their expedition has been marred with controversy almost since they left. In the past few weeks, speculation arose that the Dillards cut their mission short and returned to Arkansas to avoid catching the Zika virus, which is currently rampant in the Central American country. However, a new photo posted to Facebook confirms that the couple and their son Israel are definitely still in El Salvador, and even welcomed two guests: Jill’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. “Jill’s parents surprised us recently with an impromptu visit for a few days,” Derick wrote on his blog . “It was great to have them with us and get to show them the work the Lord is doing here.” He assured fans that 10-month-old Israel is doing well, loving the fruits and veggies there and was happy to see his grandparents. “Israel definitely enjoyed all the attention when Grandma and Grandpa Duggar came to visit,” wrote Derick. Fans have been concerned about the Dillards’ stay in El Salvador as Zika has been known to cause severe birth defects in pregnant women, and given the family’s stance on shunning birth control, Jill could be at risk. Could Jill be making an exception and using birth control ? If she did in this case, we can’t imagine anyone would fault her for it. View Slideshow: Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Photos

Jill Duggar Criticized For Sharing Photo of Bruised Baby Israel

Despite their best efforts, it seems there’s nothing the Duggar family can do to avoid controversy this year.  Obviously, the Josh Duggar sex scandals are still fresh in the minds of many former fans, but lately Jill Duggar and her husband, Derick Dillard, have been drawing almost as much criticism. The latest dust-up concerns the above photo that was posted to the Duggar family’s official Facebook page last week. As you can see, baby Israel appears to be sporting a small bruise above his eye, and Duggar fans are pouncing on the opportunity to point out what they see as further evidence of Jill and Derick’s negligent parenting.  Obviously, kids bump and bruise themselves all the time, and this shouldn’t really be a big deal on its own, but with the response she’s been getting from her photos lately, you’d think Jill would know enough to just take a break from social media for a while.  Last month, Jill posted a photo of Israel in which he appeared to be sporting a different facial bruise.  Followers attacked her both for the injury and for the fact that he was seated in front of non-baby-proofed electrical outlet. Prior to that, Jill shared a photo that prompted Duggar fans to launch a series of bizarre conspiracy theories regarding Derick Dillard’s changing appearance . View Slideshow: Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Photos Like we said, social media has not been Jill’s friend lately. Really the only thing Jill can do now is step away from Instagram and Facebook until this trend of criticizing her every move dies down. Is it fair? Not really, but we’re sure the Dillards are sick of the criticism, and rational discussion has no place in an Internet comment thread. Trust us, Jill. Right now, someone is posting an all-caps, 1,000-word screed about this article without having read a single word of it. We feel your pain. View Slideshow: Jill Duggar Baby Photos

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard Leave U.S. For Missionary Work: See the Farewell Pic!

Well, that was fast. Jill Duggar, her husband Derick Dillard, and their baby son, Israel David, boarded a plane on Sunday, taking them to their new home abroad. Jill’s younger sister Jessa Duggar posted a sweet photo via Instagram of the threesome heading off for missionary work in parts unknown … “So excited for @jillmdillard & @derickdillard!” Jessa captioned the pic. “They’ve been praying about and working towards this transition.” The parents of baby Israel Dillard are “excited to finally be heading to the mission field! Please continue to pray for them,” Jessa adds. “Be sure to check out their blog at www.dillardfamily (dot) com. ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’ Mark 16:15.” Nice plug there, Jess. The duo announced their intention to travel to an undisclosed location for a lengthy mission trip late last month via their personal blog. As we also reported, Jill and Derick founded their own ministry , or at least filed the necessary documents to make that their occupation. The couple wrote: “It has always been our goal that Jesus Christ might be glorified as we serve others through family ministry, by whatever means that might be.” “We have a deep love and care for all of the world and [a passion for all] nations, as many have even seen in the early stages of our relationship.” “Our hope is that all peoples of the world would come to repentance and put their hope in the Lord, Jesus Christ.” The family of three did not note how long they would be gone, or where, but said it would be “longer than the typical short-term mission trip.” Who knew the photo of Duggar kissing Dillard with their baby boy looking on turned out to be their kiss goodbye … to America at least. Their departure comes after a period of turmoil for the 19 Kids and Counting stars after the Josh Duggar molestation scandal broke. Jill and Jessa both came forward as victims of Josh when he was a teenager; two other sisters and one babysitter were also molested. We wish them the best, wherever they may go, as we relive some of the Dillards’ sweetest moments in the galleries above and below.
