Will "Hunger Games" Or "Bridesmaids" Rule Movie Awards?

Sunday’s most-nominated films have the Wanted, ‘Jersey Shore’ star Deena and Big Time Rush divided. By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in “Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate While we all know where Justin Bieber stands on the issue of “Bridesmaids” versus “Hunger Games” (hint: He prefers laughing to crying), we felt it was important to do our due diligence and reach out to other celebrities to see which of the two most-nominated films might take home more prizes at Sunday’s 2012 MTV Movie Awards . Kendall Schmidt and Carlos Pena from Big Time Rush also went for “Bridesmaids” as the night’s big winner, with Pena telling MTV News he thinks he’s “in love” with Kristen Wiig — “a little bit.” Siva Kaneswaran from the Wanted was banking on “The Hunger Games,” and bandmate Jay McGuiness had a very good reason. “Me and Max [George] Googled Jennifer Lawrence. We were very happy with the results,” he laughed. Deena Cortese from “Jersey Shore” also seemed pretty sure that Jennifer Lawrence’s dystopian flick will beat Kristen Wiig’s female-driven comedy about the perils of weddings: “I think “Hunger Games” might take it.” The films will not only face off in the Movie of the Year category, but also in Best Female Performance, Best Cast and Breakthrough Performance. To find out which movie will take home more Golden Popcorn, check out the 2012 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Big Time Rush Declare Themselves ‘Best Boy Band Of All Time’

But, Battle of the Boy Bands competitors also show love for ‘NSYNC. By John Mitchell Big Time Rush Photo: MTV News The competition continues to heat up in MTV News’ Battle of the Boy Bands . Some huge favorites are falling behind as some unexpected fans come out of the woodwork to vote for their favorite groups. At this point in the competition, Big Time Rush are well ahead of ’90s R&B hitmakers All For One in their showdown, but anything can happen right up until voting closes today (April 26) at noon. So, the boys are here to tell you why you should vote for them and keep them in the race for the boy-band crown. Highest Chart Achievement The band, which was created for its namesake Nickelodeon show, enjoyed its strongest sales week ever when its November 2011 album, Elevate, debuted with over 70,000 in sales. However, their debut, 2010’s BTR , while selling fewer copies (67,000) in its opening frame, actually enjoyed a higher chart position, debuting at an astounding #3 to Elevate ‘s #12. Standout Video For sheer Backstreet nostalgia alone, it’s got to be “Worldwide.” The clip features the guys — Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr. and Logan Henderson — in all-white outfits, crooning their hearts out ballad-style, while hanging out in an airline terminal. The homage to the Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” is undeniable — and we mean that as the highest of compliments. Defining Tune Well, that depends who you ask. “Boyfriend,” the band’s first official single sent to U.S. radio, remains their strongest-performing track on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #72. However, the band and its fans certainly have a connection with “Music Sounds Better With U,” which was co-written by the band and Ryan Tedder — yes, that Ryan Tedder, a hitmaker in his own right with OneRepublic, who is currently one of the hottest songwriters in the world after his work with Beyonc

Big Time Rush To Sing National Anthem On Thanksgiving

Nickelodeon stars will precede Dallas Cowboys/ Miami Dolphins game. By Christina Garibaldi Big Time Rush Photo: MTV News To say this month has been a “Big Time Rush” for James Maslow, Logan Henderson, Carlos Pena and Kendall Schmidt is an understatement. The boys from the hit Nickelodeon show released their sophomore album, Elevated, on Monday, just wrapped up shooting their new flick (“Big Time Movie”) and on Thanksgiving, they will be singing the National Anthem before the start of the football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Miami Dolphins. MTV News caught up with Big Time Rush on Tuesday (November 22) to talk about their big Turkey Day performance. “We are going to Dallas, which is where I grew up pretty much for 18 years of my life,” Henderson said about performing in front of his hometown crowd at Cowboys Stadium. Most of the members of Big Time Rush are big-time Cowboys fans. “It’s American’s team,” Schmidt said, while Maslow added, “Every American is a Cowboys fan.” Not so fast, James: It seems Pena is torn between rooting for Dallas or his hometown team, the Dolphins. “I like Miami and the Dolphins; they’re my home team,” Pena explained. “But the Cowboys gave me this job to sing the National Anthem, so, who do you go with?” Well, Carlos, you might have a fellow Dolphins fan in Miami resident Enrique Iglesias, who will be performing the halftime show. If you are too busy with Thanksgiving Day plans to catch Big Time Rush in action, the group is planning to take their act on the road for their “Better With U” Tour. The band’s first United States tour will kick off in February. Will you watch Big Time Rush sing the National Anthem? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Big Time Rush
