Los Angeles’ premiere hotel rooftop, LUXE, hosted some of the greatest names in sports honoring Football Hall of Famer, Deion Sanders, at the 3rd annual Champions for Choice event for the AFC in conjunction with the 2014 ESPY Awards. The event was hosted by boxing champion Laila Ali, WNBA and six-time Olympian Lisa Leslie, NBA Veteran Jalen Rose and sports expert for ESPN Stephen A. Smith. Also in attendance at last night’s celebration were: Oscar Award winner Louis Gosset, Jr, Karrueche Tran, VH1 Hollywood Exes stars, Torrei Hart, Nicole Murphy and Shameka Lawerence; former CW Girlfriends star Jill Marie Jones (with her new man); Tiffney Cambridge from Marrying the Game; Basketball Wives stars, Sundy Carter and Laura Govan, and a host of other taste-makers and influencers.

Jamie Foxx donned a t-shirt in honor of slain teen Trayvon Martin at the BET Awards last night. But the actor says he wasn’t make any kind of political statement with the act. “The reason for the shirt is that I met his mom personally… it’s not political, it’s not left, it’s not right, it’s not black, it’s not white, this is about the kid,” Foxx told Kevin Frazier of The Insider , adding: “For all of us, no matter what color you are… I have kids [one who is] 19. I have a kid who’s 4. You want to protect them.” At the MTV Movie Awards in April, Foxx wore a different shirt with the faces of Martin and the children killed at the Newtown shooting on it. Accompanying those images were the words “Know Justice, Know Peace.” The George Zimmerman trial , meanwhile, is underway with the man accused of murdering Martin claiming he acted in self-defense.

And though the couple secretly got married in private last year, the recent celebration included all their friends and family, like Ciara, Lala and Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Jermaine Dupri and LL Cool J. The usually private singer allowed only the Insider’s cameras, and host Kevin Frazier, into her wedding for an exclusive interview and sneak peek. I was watching the ceremony and you were talking to Shannon, what were you talking about? You couldn’t hear us, right? He asked me, was I his forever, and I answered. And a lot of other stuff, good stuff, I’m glad you couldn’t hear. What this what you dreamed of or did it exceed your expectations? It exceeded my expectations. I wanted it to be something that I would enjoy, but also our families. And I wanted us to be uplifted, uplifted in Christ, uplifted in family… And making sure everything feels good; somethings are just about the feeling and for it all to take place like that, I’m just excited… So many amazing things were happening here tonight. My 3-year-old son just literally takes over, which he does at home, so I was glad people got a chance to see how it really is, take a peek inside our lives and our love. That dress and that train! You had your hands full when you were coming down the aisle. What was that like, that moment, that walk? Because I saw you midway through, like “Whew!” The ‘whew!’ was looking at my husband. I didn’t think about the dress. I mean, I went to Paris.
