Drake, Rihanna Get Intimate In ‘Take Care’ Video Stills

Black-and-white photos show the two artists reigniting their on-screen chemistry in a ‘minimal’ way. By James Dinh Rihanna and Drake Photo: Lester Cohen/ WireImage Drake and Rihanna get close in the long-awaited clip for the MC’s single, “Take Care,” as shown in video stills that surfaced Monday (March 12). Reigniting their on-screen chemistry, the two chart-toppers are seen holding each other before a blank backdrop. Simplicity seems to be the focus, as the duo sport plain wardrobes in the black-and-white images. ThisIsRNB.com , which first leaked the images, revealed that the clip also features a “group of muscular male performers acting out tribal dance scenes” as well as shots of various animals moving in beat to the Jamie xx-produced tune. News of such a minimalistic and artsy clip isn’t all that surprising, as director Yoann Lemoine revealed to MTV News, “They seemed to be super close and that’s what I wanted for the video. Visually, it’s a very humble video. … It’s not crazy. It’s actually the most indie video I’ve done my whole life. It’s probably the most famous artists, and they were so open to a project that was so minimal.” Lemoine isn’t the only one who had a particular expectation for the visual, but also Drake himself. Back in December, Drizzy Drake admitted that he wanted the clip to be the best of his video catalog. “I want to make it perfect — the best video I’ve done to date — so I’m just taking my time,” he said. “Take Care” serves as the duo’s first video collaboration since Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” where the pop darling takes a stroll through New York City and embarks on a flirty venture with Drake. Drake Wants Video For Rihanna Duet To Be His ‘Best’

‘We’re working on definitely the ‘Take Care’ video,’ Drizzy reveals to MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Felicia “The Poetess” Morris Drake Photo: MTV News To Drake , Take Care is the story of a kid who goes from wide-eyed Toronto dreamer to rap royalty. But while Drizzy has painted that picture through songs on his sophomore set, the Young Money star hopes to roll out more visuals in support of the album’s narrative, and he has big plans for one video in particular. We’ve already seen “Marvins Room” and “Headlines,” the Lil Wayne-assisted “The Motto” is already in the can , and when MTV News caught up with him backstage at the Power 106 Cali Christmas Concert , Drizzy Drake revealed he’s set to shoot a clip for the title track with Rihanna. “It’s a project where I think visuals are called for, for a lot of those records,” he said. “So we’re working on definitely the ‘Take Care’ video, which we’re trying to get shot soon and a couple of other ones, too, off the album.” Drake, who can now hoist another platinum plaque for Take Care, wouldn’t dish on the treatment or concept for the video, but he has high expectations for it. “I want to make it perfect — the best video I’ve done to date — so I’m just taking my time,” he said. The Jamie xx-produced “Take Care,” with its pounding bass drum and sparse piano melody, tells the story of two lovers ready to leave behind their sketchy pasts in favor of a fruitful relationship together. Drake and Rih’s real-life fling (one the rapper addressed on 2010’s “Fireworks”) only helps to enhance the song’s appeal. Standing as both an endearing duet and a club banger, it’s the danceable, Gil-Scott Heron-sampling house build toward the end of the song that truly makes it a standout. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: John Sciulli/ Getty Images Joe Jonas is getting ready for some guys’ nights out. He’s set to hit the road next month with Jay Sean for a co-headlining tour, EW.com reports. The 19-city tour will kick off September 6 in Boston before wrapping up on October 6 in New York. The duo will hit up a number of major cities as they make their way across the U.S., with stops planned in Los Angeles and Chicago. After he wraps up his tour with Jay, Jonas is set to hit the road with Britney Spears for the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour. Both guys have albums in the works. Joe drops Fast Life on October 11 and Jay will release Freeze Time in the near future. MTV News caught up with Jonas backstage during his recent gig with Spears in New Jersey at the Izod Center, and he teased what fans should expect to see on the European Femme Fatale tour. “I feel like it’s the right timing now and being able to go on the Europe tour now is going to be even more incredible. I’m looking forward to it,” he said, chalking up his album’s slightly delayed release to fateful timing. “I think it just winds up perfectly for this tour, more than anything,” he said. “What better way to get [the album] out there than the Britney Spears tour? And also just mixing and tweaking; I want to make the album perfect. I wanted to make it perfect for the fans who have waited for the album.” As for those Spears shows, he says he’s going big. “You’ve got to make it bigger ’cause the stage is bigger, that plus figuring out how the European tour’s going to be,” he said. “We’re probably going to add a couple songs here and there and try to mix it up and do something different. It’s perfect timing.” Related Artists Joe Jonas Jay Sean
