I’m picturing director David Gordon Green as a teenager, watching 80’s B-movies while totally high and imagining how amazing it would be if the characters in said B-movies were also stoned out of their mind. At some point, as we all must, he grew out of this phase, and later directed critical darlings like George Washington and All the Real Girls . Then one night it hit him: “Those days on the couch in the 80’s were the best!” Moreover, “What if all of the characters in those movies were totally high?” And thus, we got Pineapple Express and now the NSFW red band trailer to Your Highness , which pits Natalie Portman, James Franco and Danny McBride against three-headed creatures, sorcerers and potent marijuana.
