Muse Eclipse Soundtrack Video Premieres

Brooding clip for ‘Neutron Star Collision’ shows unseen snippets from ‘Eclipse.’ By Eric Ditzian Muse’s “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” The “Twilight” universe’s favorite band is back. As if Stephenie Meyer and the creative minds behind the big-screen vampire franchise would have it any other way. Muse is making it three-for-three when it comes to the vampire movie soundtracks, contributing the lead single off The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” And now they’ve premiered the music video for the song. The clip is an unadorned one in its simplicity, almost reminiscent of the music videos you’d regularly see on MTV back in the ’80s. The band plays in front of oversize screens, colored lights glow and mix around them and snippets of Edward, Bella and Jacob flash across the screen. Muse’s “Neutron” track itself dropped on Monday, and MTV premiered a 30-second chunk of the video last week, but this is the first time fans have had the chance to check out the nearly four-minute visual in its entirety. At the outset, the camera pans down to find lead singer Matthew Bellamy on the piano, as a single source of light projects hazy blues and reds behind him. “I was searching, you were on a mission,” he sings. “Then our hearts combined like a neutron star collision / I have nothing left to lose / You took your time to choose.” Does any of that, by any chance, remind you of a certain girl caught between the affections of a vampire and a werewolf? Right. The video doesn’t show us a ton of fresh footage, but we do get a sense of story elements set to the tune of a brooding, epic rock song: There’s Edward and Bella in a field of flowers, there they are checking out her engagement ring and there goes a shirtless Jacob embracing the woman he loves. We also get the Volturi, the wolfpack and a quick close up nefarious Victoria. That’s not to say there’s nothing new. By our estimation, among the first looks we get are Edward and Bella kissing in the field, a shot of the Cullen family together and Victoria running from the snapping jaws of two wolves. Check out the video for yourselves and let us know what we missed! The Eclipse soundtrack is due on June 8 and the movie hits theaters on June 30. What did you think of the Muse video? Muse’s Single From The ‘Eclipse’ Soundtrack — Catch a Sneak Peek Here!

Take an exclusive look at the video for ‘Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever).’ By James Montgomery Muse’s Matthew Bellamy in “Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)” When it was announced last week that Muse had been tapped to release the first single off the hotly anticipated “Eclipse” soundtrack , fans of Stephenie Meyers’ vamp-o-riffic series rejoiced. Not only did Muse’s music play an integral part in the creation of the “Twilight” books, but they’ve now managed to land a song on each of the three film soundtracks — there’s something to be said for continuity, after all. And now that they can actually hear a snippet of that first single — a track called “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)” — and catch a glimpse of the rather dramatic video, well, we expect them to rejoice even harder. Perhaps even spontaneously combust. The song itself doesn’t stray very far from Muse’s wheelhouse, which is to say that it sounds epic, spacey and positively majestic, full of crashing drums, doomy piano stabs and fleet-fingered guitars that spiral heavenward. Frontman Matthew Bellamy sings for the rafters, belting out couplets like “Love is forever/ And we’ll die, we’ll die together” — which seem to capture the forbidden love between Bella and Edward quite nicely, don’t they? The video itself is a fairly low-key affair, just the band rocking out on a wide-open stage, while a series of screens flash between colors dramatically, bathing them in various hues. Oh, and as is somewhat fitting for an epic track like this, there’s gratuitous use of slow-motion, too, which only helps capture the sheer bombast of the performance. “Neutron Star Collision” will hit radio on May 17, and the “Eclipse” soundtrack is due on June 8. But you probably already knew that by now — and, really, why are you still reading this? Check out an exclusive sneak peek of both the song and the video right here, right now!
