Alessandra Ambrosio Takes a Selfie of the Day

There’s something magical about seeing people taking selfies shamelessly in public. It’s just part of our culture and it happens almost everywhere you go. It’s the internet turning you into the inner narcissist you’ve always been. Forcing you to think people care about where you are, what you are doing, or every little bullshit thing you see….or think…it’s like a 24/7 reality show starring you..and I totally find it boring – until it ends in nudes and sex tapes…in which case…I find it amazing… So here’s Alessandra, bikini model, taking a selfie, because she doesn’t do enough photoshoots, she isn’t on camera enough, and she needs to turn the camera on herself…you see because the people of instagram are just sitting there waiting to like the shit. The world is fucking crazy…. Occupy Wall Street’s ‘Human Microphone’: Insanely Brilliant…Or Just Insane?

http://www.youtube.com/v/eu9BWlcRwPQ

See original here:

In a sea of people taking video with hand-held HD cams and accessing the web with their smartphones, the Occupy Wall Street movement has managed a surprisingly old-school, almost primal, atmosphere. Alongside the drumbeats, public urination, and fugitives from justice , the protesters–who, by law, cannot use any microphones, speakers, or bullhorns–have been forced to amplify the words of guest speakers… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Mediaite Discovery Date : 09/10/2011 21:12 Number of articles : 2

Lady Gaga New York Magazine ‘Growing Up Gaga’ Cover

Lady Gaga tells throngs of impressionable young women ‘pop stars should not eat’ during her interview in this week’s New York magazine. Lady Gaga is a crustacean headdress wearing , Fame Monster warbling, glitter-encrusted force to be reckoned with. Yes. This much is true. She ( with the help of others ) crafted, and re-crafted, an image that recalls an art school Madonna 2.0 with recycled Bowie – lite tinges. The hybrid makes Katy Perry look lame and childish and even Christina Aguilera (with all her Xtina writhing and stage wrangling) couldn’t even begin to match Gaga ’s ability to eyebrow raise. Yes. All true. But Lady Gaga is also (forgive me) just a silly kid who takes herself too seriously. So much so that it’s almost painful to read this latest New York magazine feature by Vanessa Grigoriadis . Gaga conducts interviews in a “robot voice” proclaims singers shouldn’t eat, and shields herself from people taking pictures of New York City landmarks saying she “just can’t take cameras.” Like being in the presence of handheld Nokia makes her interior crumble. It would be nice to say these kind of rock star theatrics are at all refreshing, but quite frankly, in this day in age where, as Grigordios points out, “musicians are aware that they should show themselves to journalists” this kind of pretentiousness just comes across as transparently batty and not particularly likable. Not that it isn’t working, mind you. Afterall, Like Gaga says: ‘I’m from New York. I will kill to get what I need.” ~Melissa Noble Continue reading
