Rosie O’Donnell Pretends to Love Honey Boo Boo

Rosie O’Donnell really, really loves and respects Alana Thompson. Okay, not really. But the comedian – fully recovered from a near-fatal heart attack and now married to Michelle Rounds – sat down for a joking interview with People this week in which she said: “I love Mama June. I love Sugar Bear. I love Chubbs. I love ’em all.” Here Comes Honey Boo Boo , of course, earned monstrous ratings for TLC this summer and will return in the fall/winter with more episodes. Of the seven-year old at the center of it all, Rosie says : “She has a presence and an intellect that goes way beyond her years.” And O’Donnell concludes that she may one day take a trek fo McIntyre, Georgia: “I’d love to meet them and buy them a house.” She’s kidding. We assume. We really, really hope.

Sarah and Willow Palin Read Some Celebrity Gossip

Four years ago, Sarah Palin was a serious contender to become the next Vice President of the United States. Now, she’s reading celebrity gossip at KMart. At the retail establishment with her second-oldest daughter Willow, Sarah decided to check out the latest edition of the National Enquirer as the paparazzi watched. The tabloid, of course, features Bristol Palin on its cover. The title of the cover story: “Plastic Surgery Shockers.” Despite sporting a remarkable, almost unrecognizably different-looking face since 2009, the Dancing With the Stars hopeful has denied plastic surgery in the past. Regardless of whether she had work done, that’s a scary cover. Sarah must be so proud of her little girl’s inclusion on it, alongside her old foe Katie Couric. What do you think: Did Bristol get plastic surgery?   Yes, and she looks ridiculous! Yes, and she looks hotter now! Unclear No, you guys are imagining things. Who cares! Stop being HATERS! Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman: It’s Over?!?

In case the separation of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett didn’t ruin your belief in love, consider the following: Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman have split. Entertainment Tonight confirms that the couple, which has been married 30 years and which has three children together, are going their separate ways. DeVito, of course, stars on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia , while Perlman recently had a recurring role on the HBO’s Hung . The stars’ rep did not mention the word “divorce,” so perhaps there’s still hope for one of Hollywood’s funniest, most long-term twosomes.

‘Season Of The Witch’ Explores ‘The Paranormal,’ Nic Cage Says

Cage tells MTV News he was inspired by B-movies like ‘the great Roger Corman classics.’ By Eric Ditzian Nicolas Cage Photo: MTV News Why the vitriol? The blogosphere has lit up in recent days with some staggering hate for “Season of the Witch,” Nicolas Cage’s supernatural tale of evil spirits haunting Europe during the Crusades. Honestly, there are two ways to assess a movie: You can critique it for what you think it should have aspired to be or you can critique it on the grounds of what filmmakers themselves attempted to create. And with the latter sort of critical assessment, “Season of the Witch” hardly deserves all this fury, especially given how Cage describes his approach to the film. The actor stars, alongside Ron Perlman, as a warrior recruited to ferry a suspected witch to a bunch of monks in the hope of curing a devastating plague outbreak. “I think at some point I wanted to make movies that celebrated actors like Christopher Lee and Vincent Price, and the great Roger Corman classics that are unafraid to explore the paranormal and the supernatural,” Cage explained to MTV News. “These are the kind of movies that I personally watch, so it’s a very honest expression for me.” When you realize that Cage and director Dominic Sena were aspiring to make a film in the vein of something like “Attack of the Crab Monsters,” it becomes clearer why “Season of the Witch” plays out the way it does. Which is not to say the movie, which hit theaters on Friday (January 7), is some B-movie masterpiece — hardly. Seriously: not a chance. But it’s still quite entertaining. It’s hard to tire of Cage as proud Behman and Perlman as meathead Felson riffing back and forth in what Cage calls “a great buddy movie [with] a road-trip element to it.” “Whereas Behman has a very well-articulated idea of his relationship to country and church and spirituality and God, Felson has none,” Perlman explained. “He doesn’t bother to spend any time thinking about that. His only thought is the next drink, the next night of whoring, and how to create as much mayhem on the battlefield as is humanly possible.” Will you check out “Season of the Witch”? Tell us in the comments!
