Rihanna Reportedly Upset Before Canceling Grammy Performance Rihanna’s hotly anticipated performance of “Kiss It Better” off her latest album ANTI was one of several seemingly random last-minute cancellations at Monday night’s Grammy Award ceremony . The singer’s team cited bronchitis as the culprit for Rih’s renege. But with a flawless performance just days earlier and reports that Rih Rih went all Kanye during rehearsals …sources are speculating that there may have been more to the singer’s snub than a medical condition. As sources shared with TMZ : Rihanna was screaming and hysterical before she bailed on the Grammys, but there are conflicting stories about what triggered her outburst. Sources connected with the show, and several sources who were not connected but present at the show, tell TMZ … the singer was loudly expressing displeasure over her rehearsal. They say she was loud and upset and, as we first reported, bailed on the event. Rihanna’s people say she had a medical issue … bronchitis that was so bad she could not perform and that’s why she left. Sources close to RiRi tell us she was too upset to stay and watch the show. It’s interesting … Rihanna sang flawlessly two nights before the Grammys at a Lionel Richie charity event. Several sources say her voice was also great at the Grammys rehearsal. George Wendt, 64, who played beer-guzzling Norm Peterson on the popular sitcom, checked into the hospital on Sunday. He was to play Oscar Madison in the stage production starting Nov. 9. Wendt is a Chicago native and performed in the city#39;s Second City comedy troupe. “George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery,” Odd Couple director B.J. Jones tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage.”
My name is Nicole, I live in New York and I’m 15 years old. One of my best friends, Michaela had asked me if I wanted to go to the Today Show back in November to see Justin. Unfortunately, the plans got cancelled. Ever since then, I’ve been waiting for Justin to come back to the Today Show. He came back on June 15th and we were going to go. Unfortunately, the plans got cancelled again. But this time, we were able to go to something else. She invited me and two other friends to go meet him at the Letterman Show on June 20th. In the city it was me, my three friends, my friend’s older sister and the 4 year old girl her sister babysits. You had to be 18 years old or older to get in so we ended up going early for his rehearsal. There was not that many people there, maybe like 10 or 15. We waited for about an hour and a half then we saw a car. We thought it was Justin, but out came Dan and his dancers. They went inside to rehearse and we heard them playing “Boyfriend” from outside. Then in another 45 minutes or so, Justin showed up with Moshe, Kenny, Alfredo, Scrappy and a few other people. This was the first time I had ever seen him and he was within 5 feet from me. We yelled, “Justin we love you can we get a picture?” And he looked up and smiled and said, “Sure I’ll be right out guys!” Then, we got to inside and watch him rehearse. We saw him dance, sing and just fool around. I cried the whole time inside the studio. Then, his rehearsal was over and we rushed outside to try and catch him leaving. We saw Alfredo first and we all got picture with him. For the time that seemed like forever, he finally came out. We had brought purple flowers to give to him and the little 4 year old girl that was with us gave them to him. Justin came up to her and as she handed out the flowers he said, “Aw are these for me? Thank you so much sweetie.” He had the biggest smile I had ever seen. After that, everyone tried to get pictures with him. Then, it was my turn. I asked for a picture and he smiled and said of course. I put the camera on the front camera instead of the selfie one and he laughed at me and took a better picture. Then, he kissed me on the cheek and I gave him a half-hug goodbye. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. I have relived the moment in my head so many times. I would give anything to be standing next to him again. After three years it finally happened. Up until last week, I never thought I would ever get my shot, but I did.
