George Wendt Hospitalized

George Wendt, 64, who played beer-guzzling Norm Peterson on the popular sitcom, checked into the hospital on Sunday. He was to play Oscar Madison in the stage production starting Nov. 9. Wendt is a Chicago native and performed in the city#39;s Second City comedy troupe. “George is family to us at Northlight and we wish him well for a complete and speedy recovery,” Odd Couple director B.J. Jones tells the Chicago Sun-Times. “He will be missed in the rehearsal room and on stage.”
