Usher Calls ‘Hot Tottie,’ Featuring Jay-Z, ‘Incredible’

‘Videos, we’re in the process of working on that as well,’ he tells MTV News of his Versus plans. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by James “FLX” Smith Usher Photo: MTV News Usher’s life is all about balance right now. We caught up with him at the World Leadership Awards earlier this month in Atlanta, and he gave us a glimpse into his busy schedule. “If it’s not philanthropy, it’s music,” he said at the event for his New Look Foundation, which just raised $150,000 for a mobile clinic that will go to Haiti. “If it’s not music, it’s making sure I got the kids and dropping them off. I’m like super dad right now. The tour is the next step. May do a little acting. I’m definitely in the process of producing a few things, but it’s staying busy. If it’s not fragrance, then it’s lifestyle. If it’s cars — I mean owning, not just driving — it’s a little bit of everything.” As far as his music goes, his latest song, the Jay-Z-featuring “Hot Tottie,” is in heavy radio rotation. The record — whose name is a variation on a hot toddy mixed drink — is just a taste of the heat Usher has to offer on his upcoming EP, Versus. “In terms of ‘Hot Tottie,’ it’s another incredible record that’s gonna be part of the re-release of Raymond v. Raymond [called] Versus, ” he said. “There’s a few more. You guys check it out. Videos, we’re in the process of working on that as well.” Versus is slated to drop Tuesday. Rosalie’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Motives Are ‘Personal’ Not ‘Pro-Life,’ Nikki Reed Says

‘It’s about her want, her need to be a mother,’ she tells MTV News of her character’s fight to save the baby over Bella. By Kara Warner Nikki Reed Photo: James Lacsina As “Twilight” fans well know, there are several slightly controversial and uncomfortable scenes in “Breaking Dawn,” the final book of Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series. Going into the last two films, the big questions on fans’ minds seem to revolve around the infamous birthing and imprinting scenes. One key participant in the birthing scene is Rosalie Cullen, who becomes so obsessed with Bella having Edward’s baby that she will stop at nothing to see her born — even if it means compromising Bella’s life. When Rosalie herself, Nikki Reed, stopped by to talk with MTV News about her upcoming indie film “Last Day of Summer,” we asked what she thinks about her character’s firm beliefs on that subject matter and how she’ll tackle those difficult scenes in the films. “Here’s how I look at it: I try not to be super opinionated and vocal, because in Hollywood, that seems to only lead you in the wrong direction,” Reed said. “I try to relate this particular case to Rosalie and not make it metaphorical or symbolic of anything else.” Reed said Rosalie’s strong feelings toward the baby are tied to her prior life as a human and never having had the chance to be a mother herself. “I think that Rosalie just always wanted to be a mom, and that’s how I look at it,” she said. “It has nothing to do with being pro-life or anything. I think it’s about her want, her need to be a mother, and this is the only opportunity she’s ever going to have, so she’s willing to let Bella die so she can have that and fulfill that, and that’s how I look at it. It’s her own personal desires.” “Dawn” screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg also weighed in on the infamous scene recently, telling us she plans to write it so everyone feels the pain of the experience. “I want to see the terror of the experience,” Rosenberg said. “I want to have the experience of the fear and feel her pain. I want to feel everyone’s pain in this.” What do you think motivates Rosalie to fight for Bella’s baby? Let us know in the comments. Let’s see what they had to say… Nikki Reed (Rosalie Cullen), on the appeal of the movies: “Bella and Edward’s love is very taboo and forbidden and I think that kind of represents all youthful relationships, because that’s what all first loves feel like… It’s sort of borderline, like, insane.” Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), on male co-stars, such as Lautner and Robert Pattinson : “Oh, it gets so old, you have no idea. It has no effect on me. They’re all gorgeous and lovely boys… You just want someone interesting and weird at a certain point. I have a massive crush on Larry David.” Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria): “I had seen Twilight innumerable times. After I saw it for the fourth time, one of my best guy friends, for my birthday, made me Post-it notes with Robert Pattinson’s face that said, ‘Live Dangerously,’ because I was so obsessed. My husband actually said to me, ‘Do I need to be worried about this?’” Ashley Greene (Alice), on Eclipse : “You don’t have to be psychic to know how this movie’s going to do. Obviously, it’s going to be a hit.”
