Well, Shark Week 2015 has officially come and gone, but if you think the great whites and hammerheads of the world are ready to quietly swim away from the spotlight, think again. Apparently, it's still not safe to go back in the water, as Australian pro surfer Mick Fanning learned the hard way during his most recent competition. If you're the squeamish type, don't worry: Mick somehow survived the attack without injury, and there's nothing too graphic in the video above. However, if you're planning a beach vacation in the next couple weeks, you may want to skip the clip to help preserve your peace of mind. There's still no word on what prompted the attack, but we're guessing the sea beast saw the cameras and decided to advance his species by helping to promote the release of Sharknado 3 . Those toothy prima donnas really become addicted to fame lately.
Last week, the Associated Press published excerpts from a 2005 civil case in which Bill Cosby admitted to drugging women with the intent to rape them. For many Cosby fans, the revelation came as an utter shock, and at least two celebrity supporters distanced themselves from the comedy legend in the days that followed. Singer Jill Scott apologized for defending Cosby on Twitter. The View host Whoopi Goldberg – a longtime friend and defender of Cosby – admitted that he’s ” probably guilty .” Now, new excerpts from the 2005 deposition that have been obtained by the New York Times show a sick side of Cosby that’s sure to make his few remaining supporters question their faith in the once-beloved comic. In sworn testimony, Cosby admitted to having several extramarital affairs and paying his partners to keep the sex a secret. Asked about situations in which he allegedly engaged women sexually without receiving their verbal consent, Cosby explained that he is a “pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things” and has a talent for picking up on “non-verbal cues.” At one point, Dolores Troiani – an attorney for the plaintiff in the case – complained about Cosby’s jocular attitude and stated that she believed the TV icon was “making light of a very serious matter.” Cosby sarcastically replied, “That may very well be.” When contacted by the Times, Cosby’s publicist said the comedian has no comment regarding these latest revelations.
Alex Rocco – the actor best known for his performance as Moe Greene in the 1972 classic The Godfather – has passed away at the age of 79. Rocco’s daughter broke the news to fans on her Facebook page last night. No cause of death has been given. In addition to his small but memorable performance as a sleazy tycoon in Francis Ford Coppola’s beloved mob epic, Greene will be remembered for his long career as a revered character actor, during which he racked up more than 160 credits. Rocco won an Emmy for his role on the short-lived 1990 Jon Cryer sitcom, Famous Teddy Z. His famous, gravelly voice is recognizable to Simpsons fans as that of Itchy & Scratchy producer Roger Myer Jr. During his fifty years in the industry, Rocco also made appearances on such popular series as The Rockford Files, Starsky and Hutch, The Facts of Life, Private Practice and Episodes. Throughout his long career, Rocco never complained of being typecast as a tough-talking mobster. In fact, it’s a role he spent much of his early life preparing for. Prior to moving to Hollywood to pursue acting, Rocco had loose ties to the Boston mob and even spent some time in prison. He happily discussed his troubled youth in interviews and often said it was instrumental in helping to shape his onscreen persona. Several celebrities have already paid tribute to Rocco on social media, and he’ll be remembered by many as one of the most colorful character actors in film history. Rocco is survived by his, actress Shannon Wilcox, as well as, daughter, son and one grandson. Click through our gallery below for a full list of celebrities we’ve lost in 2015 .
