Late last month, it was reported that Empire star Jussie Smollett was attacked while walking home to his Chicago apartment. After what appeared to be a brutal, racially motivated hate crime, the reaction among fans was one of shock and disgust. Today, many are experiencing those same feelings – but for a very different reason – following an equally shocking report. Police suspect that Smollett staged the attack , and this isn't just a run of the mill conspiracy theory originating on 4Chan. Real evidence is beginning to mount suggesting that the incident actually may have been some sort of bizarre PR stunt. Many questions remain about why Smollett would go to such bizarre extremes and, if he did, just how he pulled it off. This is a developing story, but here's a look at everything we know so far about this increasingly bizarre situation. UPDATE: Smollett has now been arrested for falsifying a police report. From Victim Smollett told police that on January 29, he was attacked on a Chicago street by two white men wearing “Make America Great Again” hats. 2. To Suspect It was revealed this week that police believe Smollett “potentially staged the attack,” a source tells CBS 2 News in Chicago. 3. Closing In Police raided the home of two persons of interest in the case on Wednesday night. 4. Items of Interest Investigators seized several items linked to the allegedly staged attack, including “bleach, shoes, electronics, receipts.” 5. Mounting Evidence To the chagrin of fans, a police source confirmed Thursday night that “indicators point to Smollett orchestrating the event.” 6. The Empire actor is engulfed in controversy after accusing two men of attacking him during a late night in Chicago. Smollett said he was punched in the face, had bleach poured on him and he suffered a bruise on his face. He also accused the attackers of yelling, “this MAGA country n*gger” and putting a noose around his neck. Since then an array of reports have come out that portray Smollett as a “liar.” Smollett has been accused of “orchestrating” the attack with two Nigerian brothers who also appeared on Empire. Here’s everything we know about the incident so far: Days before the attack, a threatening and racist letter addressed to Smollett was sent to CBS Chicago with a powdery substance inside that appeared to be Tylenol. Smollett was allegedly attacked by two men in Streeterville, Chicago early Jan. 29 morning after going to Subway He hesitated to call the police because of his pride but fully cooperated when he finally did contact them. Smollett revealed police didn’t initially ask him for his phone records, but wanted his phone. He didn’t hand it over because he had valuable and personal information in his phone. He did submit his phone records within an hour of the attack but they were redacted versions and the police needed more information. Jussie’s celebrity friends and fans of the actor came to his defense, calling out the forces who give energy to the MAGA movement and condemning racism. President Trump called the incident, “horrible.” “Doesn’t get worse,” he added. A police investigation turns up no surveillance footage of the attack, but shows two “persons of interest.” In his first performance after the attack, Jussie called himself the “gay tupac.” Jussie Smollett does Good Morning America interview, giving details about the alleged attack. According to his testimony, the attacker punched him and he struck him back. “We started tussling, it was very icy.” He added, “There was a second person involved who was kicking me in my back.” Apparently, his manager was on the phone during the attack. “Then I looked down and noticed there was a rope around my neck.” The homes of Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, who were seen on the surveillance video, were raided. They were arrested but quickly released. “Due to new evidence as a result of today’s interrogations, the individuals questioned by police in the Empire case have now been released without charging.” BREAKING:Police raided the home of two persons of interest in Jussie Smollett case last night. They reportedly scouted a spot to orchestrate the attack where cameras would catch it. Apparently Jussie wanted the incident to be “physical” but not too harmful. They “made contact with Jussie’s face” but it was “weak.” The “attack” wasn’t caught on camera like Jussie had originally thought because cameras were facing north// away from where the incident occurred. Countless celebs have come out against Jussie after reports surfaced claiming the “attack” was orchestrated. “As a victim of a hate crime who has cooperated with the police investigation, Jussie Smollett is angered and devastated by recent reports that the perpetrators are individuals he is familiar with,” said defense lawyers Todd S. Pugh and Victor P. Henderson in a statement obtained by Deadline. “Nothing is further from the truth and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.” Jussie’s role on Empire has reportedly been “slashed” in the wake of the allegedly staged attack. According to official police reports, it was not a very merry Tuesday afternoon for former Big Brother contestant Christmas Abbott. TMZ and Us Weekly both confirm that the 36-year old reality star turned herself into Tampa authorities yesterday, at which time she was booked for felony criminal mischief. For what rather incredible and violent reason? Scroll down to find out! Based on records obtained by TMZ, Abbott drove to a local Florida gym back in August in order to confront her baby daddy’s alleged side piece. Cops say that Abbott then flew into a complete rage, asking all kinds of questions of this unnamed woman prior to throwing a cup of coffee in her direction. But that wasn’t all. Christmas then rammed into the alleged victim’s car in the parking lot with her own. Abbott was eight months pregnant with her first child at the time, a boy who would be born a few weeks later and named Loyal. The boy’s father is Benjamin Bunn, a fellow fitness enthusiast who is no longer with the Big Brother Season 19 third-place finisher. TMZ quotes this same police report in stating that Abbott called the other woman a “pathetic home-wrecking little slut,” among other insults. She believed at the time of the confrontation that the woman was sleeping with Bunn, even though Bunn told Us Weekly last month that he and Abbott ended their romance last December. “Unfortunately, I had very little contact with Christmas in the last few months of her pregnancy,” Bunn told this tabloid, adding in October: “However, prior to that, we spent almost every day with each other for six to seven months straight. I went to every doctor’s appointment, accompanied her for travel, moved furniture and did all the things that two caring adults do with and for each other… “I was finally able to reach her a few days before [her] due date. I found out she was being induced through Instagram, and shortly thereafter received an email.” But back to Abbott’s arrest: The responding officer on the scene says Abbott kept yelling at her man’s mistress while the officer tried to calm her down. Cops declined to process her because she was so far along, although her vehicle was seized and the sides agrees that Abbott could turn herself in at a later date. And this is what she did on Tuesday. As previously mentioned, Abbott came in third place during season 19 of Big Brother. addition to her stint on the CBS reality show, Christmas is well-known for being a series CrossFit competitor – and she was actually the first female NASCAR pit crew member. How cool and random, right?!? Hours after her arrest, meanwhile, Abbott shared a video of son Loyal Atticus sleeping on her chest. “How could I ever get enough of that sweet smile,” she wrote along with it. “I literally can stare and watch him all day long just to watch him & maybe see a lil laugh or giggle. He simply lights up my heart & makes me so fulfilled!”
Delicia Cordon Moves Out Of LeSean McCoy’s House After Attack LeSean McCoy seems to have gotten his wish. His estranged girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, and her children have moved out of his home. If you’ll recall, Delicia was brutally pistol-whipped inside of LeSean’s home last week, and she hinted from the start that her ex-baller boo was behind orchestrating the attack. LeSean had apparently tried to have his friends and family illegally evict Delicia while she was out of town, and later had an associate file legal documents to have a court remove her from the home. She was attacked just one day before they were set to meet in court over the matter. Now, TMZ reports that moving trucks were spotted outside of LeSean’s home. Sources tell them that Delicia has relocated to a home she considers safer, and has private security on the premises. LeSean vehemently denies he was involved in the incident, and has yet to be charged with a crime. Delicia maintains that LeSean orchestrated the attack — despite reports floating around the internet that she was “no longer sure” that her ex placed an order for the robbery. And like any good professional bully, D-Dill has already chosen a sufficiently vulnerable target at which to direct all of his frustrations over his own intellectual shortcomings. Presumably acting on instructions issued to him when Jesus appeared in his Chick-Fil-A Hash Brown Scramble Bowl, Derick has launched a one-man war against his fellow TLC reality star Jazz Jennings. Derick first attacked Jennings in an unprovoked Instagram tirade back in August. Dillard was slammed on Twitter by folks from all walks of life who were put off by the idea of a grown man attacking a teenage girl, but the father or two carried on in his quest to … teach a young girl how hateful the world really is? We’re not really sure what Derick was hoping to accomplish. In fact, we’re guessing Derick couldn’t tell you what Derick was hoping to accomplish. But since his bigotry briefly earned the attention of people who hadn’t thought about the Duggars since Josh was exposed as a molester , Derick is carrying on with his attack. In response to a fan who recently pointed out that many of Dillard’s tweets and blog posts come off as “hateful,” Dillard replied: “I pity Jazz, 4 those who take advantage of him in order 2 promote their agenda, including the parents who allow these kinds of decisions 2 be made by a child.” He added: “It’s sad that ppl would use a juvenile this way. Again, nothing against him, just unfortunate what’s on tv these days.” Replying to those who have pointed out that Derick appears to be relentlessly harassing a girl he’s never met who did nothing to provoke him, Dillard added: “Never bullied anyone, just said I didn’t agree with what is being propagated on my TV.” You would think he was talking about the fact that there’s a TLC series about a family who harbored a child molester (It’s true ! We looked it up!) but no, Derick is still going in on Jazz. He went on to argue that Jennings is simply too young to make decisions for himself. In fact, he argues that all minors are incapable of making decisions, which is why he doesn’t send his children to school–they might get a head full of ideas and start making choices without his supervision! We wish we were joking: “Jazz is being taken advantage of, as part of a larger agenda,” Derick argues. “I hate seeing him used this way,” he adds. “Is it good for the government to force kids to go to school before they are old enough to decide how they feel about it?” Dontcha see? The guv’mint’s sending kids to school and brainwashing them with Caitlyn Jenner propaganda! And don’t get Derick started on the moon landing! For her part, Jennings has yet to reply to Dillard’s latest bid for attention, which is typically the best way to deal with bullies. A witness named Greg King recounted what he heard and saw during the attack: ‘A black Toyota went ploughing straight towards us and the crowd. I heard tyres screeching and a lot of screaming and then a massive smash which was him hitting a sign and the glass falling. ‘He then swerved and went smashing into the silver car on the other side of the road which stopped him. ‘People were sprinting in all directions and then it looked like a security guard from the museum and two members of the public were pinning him down.
