Trailers from Hell is Heaven for Film Fans [VIDEOS]

Trailers from Hell , the movie-review site founded by The Howling (1981) director Joe Dante , is the next best thing to sitting down with your favorite director and talking about movies. So why haven’t more people heard of it? Since the site launched in 2007, Dante and his “grindhouse gurus” have provided insight on over 750 classic movie trailers , including quite a few titles from the Mr. Skin Nudity Hall of Fame. Each trailer is presented with commentary from industry pros who were involved in the movie (like Roger Corman ‘s story about being sued by the Hell’s Angels over his 1966 flick The Wild Angels ) or are just big fans (like The People Vs. Larry Flynt writer Larry Karaszewski revealing what those coprophiliacs were really eating in Salo – turns out it was a combination of Swiss chocolate, broken biscuits, and marmalade). But shooting, editing, and hosting hundreds of online videos ain’t free, and so Dante & Co. are now asking the public to chip in with a Kickstarter campaign that’s looking to raise $30,000 to produce more trailers and promote the site. See Jack Hill talking about his WIP classic The Big Doll House (1971), Poison Ivy director Katt Shea on The Pom Pom Girls (1976), and Saw director Darren Bousman on re-making Mother’s Day (1980) after the jump!

Ohio and Florida

With 13 days to go, the campaign thunders on. Mom has been campaigning on her own so met back up with Dad for some huge rallies in Ohio followed by some HQ visits in Florida. I am so grateful for the chance to be on the campaign with him. I think our energy really gets him pumped up for these rallies. Plus, he likes to joke around with us behind the scenes. Another first for me at the rallies in Ohio was introducing Dad to the huge crowd! I was as nervous as I think I’ve ever been, but Dad had the right advice and I think I did fine; at least the crowd seemed to think so. Everyone is excited about the election, but there’s a lot of work yet to be done. When I see my father reach out to supporters, look them in the eye and see the expression on their faces, I know he will be the kind of President we need at this time in our history. If you hear about an upcoming campaign event in your area, be sure to come out in support of him. You won’t be disappointed. Song of the Day: “No Hiding Place” by Elvis Costello Everyone, go out and check out his new album, it’s incredible!!!
