Mama’s A RIDER: Man Captured At IHOP After His Mother Helped Him Escape From Jail

Source: Radio One Staff / Radio One Houston Man Found At IHOP With Mother After Escaping From Jail A mother in Georgia helped her son escape jail this week, then took him to celebrate the feat with some pancakes. But unfortunately for the tag team, her son wasn’t out of jail for long. Soon enough the mother and son duo were captured at the most popular pancake place of them all, the International House Of Pancakes (IHOP) . The Heard County Sheriff’s Office told local  TV station WSBTV  that 27-year-old Joshua Gullat slipped out of the jail while mopping floors and cleaning bathrooms on Monday night at around 11:30 p.m. Gullat’s mother, 54-year-old Kathy Pence, was reportedly waiting in a Black Cadillac Escalade to whisk him away from the jail. Investigators reportedly tracked Pence’s cellphone—apparently after she had earlier received directions from her son, via a phone call, about where to pick him up at the jail—which led them to an IHOP in Coweta County, Georgia. Heard County Sgt. Dan Boswell told WSBTV, “He said they were sitting at the table eating. He was sitting with two of his kids at the table. His mom, him and two of his children.” According to authorities, it only took about two hours to recapture Gullat. “With the good work between our dispatchers and the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, this escape was resolved in a timely fashion,” Boswell said, according to  the Newman Times-Herald.  “We appreciate all their help.” Police said Gullat apologized for the escape but wouldn’t give up how he got to the restaurant alongside his mother. WGCL reported that Gullat had been serving a 24 to 36 month sentence on two charges of burglary, but of course, he’s now facing additional felony charges for the escape. His mother faces a felony charge as well for helping the escape.

Oh, you thought Kanye was done after spending 45 minutes at the White House rambling on and telling the President he’s his only valid father figure while his actual blood father is somewhere recovering from cancer treatments ? Welp, you would be absolutely wrong. The rapper took off his MAGA hat and samurai shirt to instead rock a US Postal service uniform for a visit to the Georgetown Apple store. Nobody really knows why he showed up there…he wasn’t shopping for a damn thing. Apparently, he asked if he could hop up on the table to give a “keynote address,” and for whatever inexplicable reason, management obliged. What followed next was…more ramblings on hats: “It hurts us as people, specifically black people, the idea, because we say, was America ever great for us? So we made an updated hat that said ‘Make America Great,’ and Trump wore the hat so he is open to adjusting and listening.” *Heavy sigh* Anyway, according to Page Six , Kanye suddenly hopped off the table and hustled out of the door with his entourage, saying he was headed to Africa. Black Excellence: Solange Is Being Honored as Harvard’s 2018 Artist of the Year

Rick Kern/WireImage Solange Is Being Honored By Harvard Solange has truly had the career of a lifetime, especially in these past few years. Not only did her most recent album,  A Seat at the Table, reach number one, but she’s been making her mark with a string of powerful performances at places like the Guggenheim Museum and the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas. Her latest achievement is a big one, too, as it’s been announced that Knowles has been named the 2018 Harvard Artist of the Year. Harvard University chose to honor the artist for using “her platform to advocate for representation and justice while providing constructive and empowering political messages,” which was announced via a press release from the institution. To date, this is the third major award Solange has received for her work. She was previously named Glamour Woman of the Year and before that received the Billboard Impact Award. Solange is set to be recognized and presented with the award at a ceremony on next month, on March 3. The award comes from the Harvard Foundation for intercultural and race relations, which is the university’s office for inter-racial, inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations; They honor the nation’s most acclaimed artists and scientists each year. Previous artists of the year have included names like Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Jackie Chan, Viola Davis, Salma Hayek and John Legend. Continue reading →
