The self-proclaimed founder of the “Biblical Flat Earth Society” was arrested this week and charged with 56 counts of child sexual exploitation. According to ABC 11 News , Stallings was hit with 28 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and 28 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He was also served with outstanding warrants for financial card theft and cyberstalking. Raw Story reports: Stallings’s personal website promotes his belief that the Earth is flat and cites biblical justifications for this provably false belief. Stallings believes that there is a conspiracy among the so-called Illuminati to “cover up the flat Earth” that is “certainly connected to sun worship which goes all the way back to Nimrod and the tower of Babel. Last month, we reported that R. Kelly is under criminal investigation for allegedly grooming women to be his sex slaves in an abusive “sex cult.” Survivors have come forward and shared their stories for years, but nothing changed … until Friday. R. Kelly is now facing a number of disturbing charges, most of which are related to the sexual abuse of a minor. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that R. Kelly has finally been charged. He faces ten counts of aggravated sexual abuse in Cook County. Nine of the ten charges specify that the victims were between the ages of 13 and 16. On Friday afternoon, it was reported that a judge is expected to sign an arrest warrant for the rapper that day. Kelly’s court date has already been set for March 8. This is fantastic and long-overdue news (and just in time for what has otherwise been a dismal Black History Month full of disappointments). But unfortunately, some of the details of this case are … truly disgusting. Apparently, it was attorney Michael Avenatti who gave police a video featuring a man who appears to be R. Kelly. In the video, the man is having sex with a young woman who appears to be underage. During the video, the man is reportedly shown urinating on the young girl in question. Also during the video — and it is unclear if this is happening during the urination — the man is heard discussing the girl’s body. He apparently “refers to her body parts as 14 years old.” The video in question is said to be 45 minutes in length. Michael Avenatti spoke to CNN in an interview and explained how he came to be certain that the tape depicts R. Kelly. “My client knows the identity of the girl and R. Kelly,” Avenatti said. “He identified the two of them on the videotape.” “He worked for and has known R. Kelly for decades,” Avenatti continued. “And he met the girl on a number of occasions.” Mere moments before the charges were announced on Friday, Avenatti posted a powerful subtweet. “It’s over,” he tweeted. Despite reports of the tape coinciding with these new charges, it has not been confirmed that the charges stem from the tape. It is also unclear what other evidence is involved in these charges. R. Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, said on Friday that he has not yet been notified that his client has been charged. Greenberg spoke to the Associated Press last month to categorically deny all of the things for which R. Kelly is infamous. “[Kelly] never knowingly had sex with an underage woman, he never force anyone to do anything,” Greenberg told the AP . He continued his denials: “he never held anyone captive, he never abuse anyone.” R. Kelly was previously acquitted in 2008 after allegedly appearing in a similar sex tape. At the time, many believed that his celebrity status and high-priced legal team had contributed to the jury’s finding. Even before the Surviving R. Kelly docuseries brought so much to light, many wondered if he would be so lucky a decade later. The #MeToo movement helped bring a lot of social awareness about how powerful men use fame and fortune to get away with despicable deeds. Notably, the tape that may or may not be part of the evidence behind these charges is said to contain the infamous identifying mole. In 2008, Kelly’s attorneys argued that the appearance of the mole was actually a glitch in the video. Perhaps modern video technology will make that argument less convincing before a jury. Even before Avenatti came forward with his client’s tape, other investigations were underway. Of particular note was what appeared to be an FBI investigation into some of the women believed to still be Kelly’s captives. The FBI neither confirms nor denies ongoing investigations of this nature, but at least one agent sought information from families of these women. Based upon numerous accusations from women who have escaped what has been described as a sex cult, Kelly has a pattern with adult women. He is said to seduce them, flatter them, and slowly distance them from friends, family, and their profession. That, multiple survivors say, is when he becomes physically abusive and coercive, inflicting violence or starvation to punish disobedience. He is also reported to have an interest in underage girls whom he “trains” to serve him. Friday’s charges are welcome, but long overdue. We hope that justice is done. View Slideshow: R. We've all known for a long time now that something is not right with David Eason. Well-adjusted people just don't behave the way he does. As his time in the Teen Mom spotlight drags on, he keeps getting worse and worse, and there really seems to be no limit for how low he can go. Many fans of the show have expressed concerns that one of the issues with him is that he's a drug user, though we've seen little evidence of that. Until now, that is. 1. Real Talk David Eason is a menace to society. 2. The Biggest Downward Spiral Before he got with Jenelle, he was arrested several times for things like DUIs, breaking and entering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was even once jailed with her first husband, Courtland Rogers! 3. Accusations He was also accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed in court documents that he pushed her around and threatened to kill her while she was pregnant with their son. 4. Heartbreaking Her story was so sad that a judge granted a restraining order against David for her and their son, which was only recently lifted. 5. So Sad And the abuse accusations have obviously continued — just a few months ago, Jenelle called 911 for help after David allegedly pinned her to the ground so hard she thought he’d broken her collarbone. 6. It Gets Worse But even though the abuse rumors are horrible enough, David definitely has more going on than just that. View Slideshow
Source: Frans Schellekens / Getty The Surviving R. Kelly documentary has brought up so many heavy conversations and so many of our former faves are being exposed. According to reports, the late Michael Jackson is next up to be chronicled for his alleged sexual misconduct with minors. Rolling Stone: The two-part, 233-minute Leaving Neverland , named after Jackson’s famed California ranch, will receive its world premiere as part of the festival’s Special Events category before airing on HBO this spring. In a release, the filmmakers confirmed the accusers featured in the film as choreographer Wade Robson, the now-36-year-old who filed a sexual abuse lawsuit against Jackson in 2013 claiming Jackson molested him when he was seven years old, and James Safechuck, Jackson’s companion as a child who sued Jackson’s estate over sexual abuse claims. Source: Toshi Sasaki / Getty Two Lawsuits Call Out Staff Members By Name Some horrible and shady things seem to be coming to light for a juvenile detention center in New York. According to New York Daily New s , supervisors and staff at the Horizon Juvenile Center were accused in a lawsuit of coercing teens to perform sex acts with them. The suit was filed on behalf of Franklyn Malonado, a teen who spent 2010 through 2014 in and out of Horizon. At the detention center, which holds 10 to 15-year-olds in Mott Haven, supervisors allegedly participated in “grooming” teen boys and girls to have sex with Horizon employees in exchange for things like smuggled booze, cigarettes and food. Former administrative director of residential child care, Tahia Dennis, was one of the supervisor named in the suit. Weeks after being named, Dennis ordered the shredding of internal documents. The content of the documents is unknown, but they could possibly link staff to the alleged abuse. Fortunately, the documents didn’t get destroyed and according to City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), they were seized by management and sent to a locked warehouse. The situation was then referred to the city Department of Investigation. The lawsuit described graphic details of the alleged abuse. In one instance, a female counselor was found naked on top of a teenager in his cell. Malonado says that same counselor told him she would make sure he didn’t face disciplinary actions if he “took care of her needs.” Initially, Malonado’s suit was filed in August of 2017 and it didn’t include names. However, in September of that year, Maldonado’s lawyer, Vik Pawar, filed an updated lawsuit that listed the names of supervisors, including Dennis. Twelve days later, Dennis sent out an email to the detention center’s tour commander and overseer of counselors, writing, “Please begin immediately to shred old paperwork and files that you might have since the building opened. Thank You.” A former employee at Horizon said the documents were shredded soon after the email was sent out, however a spokeswoman for the ACS, Chanel Caraway, told Daily News that none of the records were shredded. “This was part of a routine shredding of duplicate documents, but these documents were never actually shredded and have been stored in a secure location the entire time,” Caraway said. “However, the matter was referred to DOI upon learning of it.” A second lawsuit was filed in May of 2018 accusing certain Horizon staff members of sexual abuse. Miguel Smith, a teen who was at Horizon between 2013 and 2015, said that Dennis and another supervisor would “stand guard” while a female counselor had sex with him. Pawar is representing Smith as well, and he questions the claim that the email shredding order was apart of a routine task. “It says ‘from the beginning’ so they’ll be hard-pressed to explain that they’ve been doing this (shredding) going back,” Pawar said. “I think they’re hiding stuff. I think they got caught with their pants down and they were destroying evidence.” A new ACS commissioner had been appointed since all the alleged abused took place and he said he “ordered a top-to-bottom overhaul of leadership and practices at Horizon.” Meanwhile, the investigation of the staff in the lawsuits continues.
