Retweet This, Comrade: Nicki Minaj, Trevor Noah, Donald Trump And More Engaged With Russian Twitter Bots

Image via Getty Celebs Interacted With Russian Social Media Sites Earlier we reported on the indictment of 13 Russians as a result of Robert Mueller’s investigation into election tampering back in 2016. Based on the indictment paperwork, several social media outlets have been outed as Russian propaganda, and many of the most famous Americans citizens unknowingly helped their reach. For example, take this tweet that Nicki Minaj sent the day the harrowing live-stream murders happened in Cleveland: The video u posted is so disturbing. Be safe in CLEVELAND today everyone. He just killed this old man live on social media. Jesus have mercy https://t.co/mYmpPvBBXl — NICKI MINAJ (@NICKIMINAJ) April 16, 2017 Or Donald Trump replying to some of that wet and sloppy boot-licking that he enjoys so much: So nice, thank you! https://t.co/Cg4dzHhbrv — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 20, 2017 According to NBC , these two were FAR from the only celebrities to get caught up by the Ruskis, they have an EXTENSIVE list of influential tweeters who unwittingly (in Trump’s case, he probably knew they were Russian, but we digress) engaged in one form or another (reply, retweet, like) with Russian propaganda pages: Jake Tapper (CNN) Sarah Silverman Trevor Noah Ann Coulter Sean Hannity Donald Trump Jr. The list goes on and on and on. Trump haters engaged usually to push back against a claim, while MAGA brand mayo jars engaged to show support or as evidence of their misguided beliefs. We’ve all gotta be more conscious of which things we let get us riled up online. You might just be aiding the enemy. Continue reading

John Hopkins Students Petition To Ban Dr. Ben Carson From Commencement For Comparing Gay Marriage To Human-Animal Sex

Students are stepping in and speaking out about Dr. Ben Carson’s controversial comments Students Campaign To Ban Dr. Ben Carson From Graduation Ceremony College students at John Hopkins University are joining forces to campaign against anti-gay political pundit Dr. Ben Carson speaking at the University commencement ceremony following comments made earlier this week in which Carson compared gay marriage to human-animal sex . via Fox News Johns Hopkins students are campaigning to have Dr. Ben Carson pulled from this year’s commencement speaker line-up in response to comments made about gay marriage. Carson has since said he apologizes for having offended anyone and indicated he might withdraw from the commencement role, though he says his words are being misconstrued. Carson, who rocketed to political fame after criticizing President Obama’s policies during the National Prayer Breakfast, made the gay marriage comments on Fox News Tuesday night. Host Sean Hannity asked Carson his opinion on same-sex marriage, given the Supreme Court’s consideration of two gay marriage cases this week. “Marriage is between a man and a woman,” Carson said. “It’s a well-established, fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in [human-animal sex]– it doesn’t matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition.” Students accused Carson of effectively comparing “gay relationships with [pedo-files] and [human-animal sex].”

Ho Sit Down: Atlanta Public School Superintendent Beverly Hall And 34 Others Indicted In Largest Academic Cheating Scandal In U.S. History!

THIS is the U.S. education system? No wonder the rest of the world is laughing at us. Atlanta Public School Superintendent Beverly Hall And Others Indicited In Cheating Scandal Via AJC The supposed transformation of Atlanta Public Schools overseen by former Superintendent Beverly Hall resulted from a criminal enterprise that victimized thousands of struggling students for years, authorities alleged Friday. Capping a series of investigations that spanned four years, a Fulton County grand jury indicted Hall and 34 others on charges that they conspired to cheat on federally mandated standardized tests from at least 2005 to 2010. Further, the grand jury charged, Hall, several top aides, principals and teachers engaged in the scheme for their own financial gain. And with investigators closing in, the jury said, Hall and others lied to cover up their crimes. Hall inculcated an atmosphere that encouraged using any means necessary to achieve test-score targets, the indictment said, and then “publicly misrepresented the academic performance of schools throughout APS.” Pressuring subordinates to produce targeted scores, the indictment said, “created an environment where achieving the desired end result was more important than the students’ education.” “This is nothing but pervasive and rank thuggery,” said Richard Hyde, one of the special investigators appointed in 2010 by then-Gov. Sonny Perdue to delve into what has become the largest academic cheating scandal in U.S. history. The indictment served as a resounding refutation of Hall’s assertions that Atlanta had found the secret formula that had long eluded educators elsewhere: how to get strong performances from poor, mostly minority students in decaying urban schools. For her efforts, Hall was named the national superintendent of the year in 2009. The teachers chopping down the students and the school officials cheating the system for a couple dollars, makes home school look like a GREAT alternative… Now Hall, 66, faces as much as 45 years in prison. Grand jurors recommended that a judge set her bond at $7.5 million. Authorities gave all the defendants until Tuesday to surrender. Along with Hall, the grand jury indicted four other former top administrators: Millicent Few, who ran the district’s human resources division, and area supervisors Sharon Davis-Williams, Tamara Cotman and Michael Pitts. B-b-but wait it gets worse! Beyond the criminal acts it alleged, the indictment revealed the human toll exacted by years of test-score manipulation, first reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2008. When a teacher at C.W. Hill Elementary complained about cheating by a colleague in 2005, Hall suspended the accused educator for 20 days. As for the whistle-blower, Hall fired her. Hall repeatedly ignored or disregarded reports of cheating or other questions about test scores. In 2006, Howard said, Atlanta resident Justina Collins was concerned when her daughter received the lowest score on a benchmark examination in her third-grade reading class — but then, somehow, exceeded reading standards on the CRCT. Collins managed to get an appointment with Hall, who told her there was no evidence her daughter needed help. She had, after all, done well on the CRCT. “Your daughter is the kind of person who tests well,” Collins said she was told. Now in the ninth grade, her daughter reads at a fifth-grade level. Bottom line, this beyotch ain’t isht and she, along with her accomplices, are about to pay the price. Peace, see ya later. Image via HullTruth

Makin’ It Rain On Them One-Handed Hoes: South Carolina Man Faces 20 Years For Insurance Fraud After Chopping Off A Hand And Cashing Out $670,000!

A Cayce man accused of cutting off a person’s hand as part of an insurance scam was released from jail Thursday. Gerald B. Hardin posted $100,000 bond and was released from Lexington County Detention Center after turning himself in earlier this month. Federal prosecutors say he and another person used a pole saw to cut off an acquaintance’s hand to get a payout from four insurance policies in May 2008. He is charged with six crimes, including insurance fraud. The other two people involved were not named in the Hardin’s federal indictment. According to the indictment, Hardin and another person used a pole saw — a small chain saw attached to a pole used to cut tree branches — to cut off a third person’s hand to cash in on three accidental death and dismemberment policies and the homeowner’s insurance policy at the Sumter County home where the incident occurred. It’s unclear in the indictment who owned the home. Dean Eichelberger, the U.S. Attorney prosecuting the case, said that after the person’s hand was cut off, the person was transported to the local hospital. They were later transported to a Charlotte hospital, where surgeons attempted to reattach the hand. The doctors were unsuccessful, Eichelberger said. The indictment states that one of the people took out the accidental death and dismemberment policies on the person whose hand was amputated before the incident. The three received a little more than $671,000 in payouts from the policies and the homeowners insurance policy settlement, the indictment said. The FBI found out sometime later, Eichelberger said, and began investigating. If convicted, Hardin faces up to 20 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. Ronnie Ortiz Indicted For Jersey Shore Assault

Jersey Shore star Ronnie Ortiz (also known as Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Ronnie Magro) has been formally indicted by New Jersey grand jury on an assault charge. The legal trouble for Ron stems from an episode from the MTV reality series. The title of the episode during with he cold-cocked Stephen Izzo? “One Shot.” Ortiz faces up to five years in state prison for third-degree assault. DOUCHE-TASTIC : And this was before his new tattoo ! The meathead “purposely or knowingly caused significant bodily injury to Stephen Izzo by striking in the face with a closed fist,” the indictment reads. Izzo is already suing Ortiz, MTV, Jersey Shore producers and the nightclub over the assault, which caused him to lose consciousness . Pretty bad stuff. Not bad enough for the show to tone down the violence, of course. If these clips from Jersey Shore Season 3 are any indication, it’s gonna be a wild winter.
